A Midsummer Night's Dream with Illustrations by W. Heath Robinson

This is a lovely reproduction in a large format with crisp, clear illustrations. Until recently, I was only familiar with W. Heath Robinson's second career of Rube Goldberg-like cartoons and his book Uncle Lubin. He was also an amazing Golden Age illustrator. The set of illustrations for this book combine charming detail with balanced composition and a skilled use of white space. My only complaint is that such a noteworthy book has laminated covers (which tend to peel over time) and perfect binding (the pages are glued rather than stitched).

Illustrations are wonderful. Beautifully set out.

This is a lovely edition of A Midsummer's Night Dream. I am familiar with the drawings by Arthur Rackham ... the drawings by W. Heath Robinson are new to me. So happy I purchased this book.

Wonderfully illustrated. My daughter loves it.

I have always enjoyed the play but I am in awe of the gorgeous illustrations created by W. Heath Robinson. A great find.
