Vinny,Perfect for a beginner! i phone app works great, I set mine up against the window in the sunroom, and it shows the driveway.So easy to set up, (5 minutes), all you need is wifi and plug and play! I'm going to get 1 more for the livingroom, to watch the doors, the wide angle lens is perfect. The timer is easy to set and I would recommend this to anyone!!

Great security camera that can also double as baby monitor. Setup is quick and easy. Extremely secure given that the end-user takes the time to setup a good password. I have not heard of any issues with backdoor root password abuses like other IP cameras have had. (google: ip camera botnet)Video quality is awesome, and motion sensor is beyond great. One thing I really like about this is the ability of Arlo to record the video prior to motion sensor being triggered - I assume with video buffer being kept on servers.Microphone is great, the speaker not so much -- but usable. Minus points for a major lag for live stream -- when I am looking at the live feed, there is about 3-5 second lag between the live action and seeing what happened on my phone.Minor annoyance is automatic logging of when two people try to access the app on 2 devices -- this seem to only occur if both wife and I access it at the same time. Ocassionaly I get a purple light (no internet found), even though no other devices experience this -- but nothing of major concern as it reconnects quickly.Overall a great purchase after researching other IP cameras for a month. Highly recommended.

Set up is easy, recording is clear even in dark. App is easy to use too. Overall this little monester works perfectly fine. Only thing is the price. I think you can find a similar product at lower price.

The camera looks well built and the Netgear brand behind it inspires trust at first. That's why I had chosen this cam over other cheaper models. The setup is easy, but quite long. After a couple of days of usage, I realized the camera keeps disconnecting, randomly, even though the wifi signal is strong. It almost never reconnects automatically and it's also impossible to reboot remotely. Often, I've had to reset the camera and start the setup from scratch. I would never buy a Netgear camera again. It's not worth the high price point. Also, there is no SmartThings support and the existing modules are pretty bad.

My boyfriend's family got one at BestBuy as there were lots of parcels getting stolen from their front door around the area where they live. The camera saved them once, so I've decided to get one off Amazon (as I dont drive and it's just easier). Now I can see when my family comes home and when the renters that lives with us comes home. Also it's nice for me to see if the parcel has been delivered or not (and when it was delivered).
