Is it dishwasher safe? How do u clean liquid from spilling

I wouldn’t put it in the dishwasher. It is very light weight. I’ve had it for a few months. It’s sit on an ottoman in my family room. I’ve never had to wash it as we have never spilled anything on it.

Can food items such as cheese, etc. be placed directly on the tray safely? And, will food items stain/mark the tray?

These are stained wooden trays. They do not appear to be treated to use for food prep. I do not place food items directly on the tray. Use them to protect my table surfaces from drink spills. Snack items (wet or dry) always on a napkin or small plate/bowl.
