amscan 842981-55 Chain Mail Hooded Tunic, 1 Pc, Grey

The product was purchased with the intention of taking part in occasional cosplay events. Since the real chainmail armours can be quite pricey and delivery process can be lengthy, I decided to give this imitation chainmail tunic with coif (hood) a try.I was not disappointed - the delivery time was good, as expected. It took about a week or so to receive the item. Product was neatly packaged in a plastic bag/holder with a brief description and handling instructions in different languages. The item is fully sythetic and it's made from polyester (100%).The texture does resemble a genuine chainmail and the fabric is fashioned in a manner resembling a mesh. It feels smooth and silky on the inside and looks like a dark chainmail from the outside. Both the tunic and the hood look the part and seem more realistic from a distance of a few feet. If you look closer, the tunic appears to be what it actually is - an imitation.Overall, I am very pleased with the product. It's really good for the price and is an excellent item for cosplay if you don't have a fortune to spend on the real chainmail armour.I have uploaded a photo of the item (please note the sword, belt and sword holder are not included).

I got this for my 15 year old that is 5"10 but also is a very slim fit so if you are getting it for someone of the same build it is going to be baggy I am afraid. I was able to wash it with no problems and I was able to alter it with no problems either. Did the job, wasnt to heavy and was easy to use.

It looks reasonably realistic and does not clash with other accessories. Be careful - it's easy to catch and snag the silver thread on something, as easy as tights.

I was concerned about sizing as it is Standard, I am 39inch chest but it was a perfect fit both in chest and arm length.It is made up of a silky black polyester under garment over laid by a black and silver fine netting.The chain mail appearance is very effective worn under a costume or on its own.It is lightweight and cool to wear.However it is a costume suitable for fancy dress etc. It is not a substitute for real chain mail !I am very pleased with the purchase and would recommend it

I'm of mid build (80kg) and this fits very well with room to spare. It's very confortable but will get too hot if you wear it in a hot day with more things on top. Looks legit from distance but can trick even up close if you adorn it with more pieces.

I was looking for a lightweight alternative for chainmail for Larp games and this really fits the bill. It looks pretty good for a polyester shirt and the stitched mail actually moves like chainmail. Very impressed with this item for the price !
