Carhartt Women's Rugged Flex Loose Fit Canvas Double-Front Work Pant

Great fit, thinner material than I'm used to in a work pant
I am a female forester and it is difficult to find good-fitting tough pants to wear in the woods. I've worn Women's Carhartt pants in various styles for years, so I thought I'd give these a try. The fit is excellent for me. I am 5'6" and 160 lbs. The size 8 regular are perfect. No gaping in the waist, the butt fits good, inseam is appropriate, and the leg openings will fit easily over my logger boots. The fabric is a little different than I'm used to in a pair of work pants. It is fairly thin, with a little bit of stretch to it but with the double fronts, I think they'll be tough enough for days when I encounter less briars. Plus, they'll be a little cooler than some of my thicker pants for our hot, humid E NC summers. (Note: I also purchased the Carhartt Women's Relaxed Fit Double Front Kane Dungaree in the same size and color for the same price here on Amazon. They had a horrendous fit...basically men's pants... but were a much thicker denim fabric.)

As Expected! Wonderful work pant!
My boyfriend owns a pair of these in the male version obviously and they have lasted him YEARS! So, when I needed work pants for some home remodeling these were an obvious choice. I previously tried these pants on in a store to know the correct sizing, but the store didn't have the black color in stock. I have a slightly more athletic build so the thighs are a bit tighter and the waist a tad loose. I have to wear a belt with them although that isn't an issue as I typically wear a belt with work pants. I am a bit disappointed that they don't offer them in the khaki color, but the black looks good as well. They came on time with no issues with packaging. So honestly, I got what I wanted and expected!I would highly recommend these as a work pant. The double panel on the front just makes them feel very sturdy. The pockets are well thought out and placed. They stretch enough as you move, but not so much that they are loose at the end of the day. I've washed them a couple of times with some heavy use and the fit hasn't changed at all and the fabric has even gotten a bit softer.

Good pants, comfy, run large
These are comfortable and seem pretty sturdy (haven't done too much in them yet though). Overall I like them and have been wearing them regularly. However, as a warning, they do definitely run big which I think is a carhartt thing in general. I'm normally a size 2 (25" waist 36" hips) and these are just big enough on me that they look kind of stupid. I bought some cheap button pins so I could adjust the waist tighter and they're still a bit loose but they work fine now. Not a huge deal, but it still would have been nice to have a size of carhartt pants that actually fit me (I believe 2 is the smallest they offer?). Another minor complaint is that the women's version doesn't have the little metal things which idek what those are for but they make the pants look cooler so I wish they had them lol.

Length and fit are great, durability is abysmal
Loved the tall version of these double front pants. Am 5’9, and loved finding work pants that are long enough to fit over steel toe boots that are comfortable. Unfortunately, after the very first wash, found a seam rip right at the seat. It hasn’t ripped all the way through, but I would not trust that the pants can last a squat at the construction site. These are comfortably loose on me, so it’s not even a matter of over-stretching, it’s just bad quality stitching. Am frustrated that these only lasted one wash.Cannot recommend

They're ok
(More about the fit/sizing, for anyone who's interested): Although I have a small frame (including no butt or hips), I find jeans and slacks all the time in retail stores that fit perfectly (usually in a size 0 or 2, in either Petite or Short depending on the brand), which is proof that plenty of women are my size or smaller. So while I can find great pants for the office or for going out, I've had the hardest time obtaining sturdy pants for gardening/DIY that aren't too big. I do have a pair of Carhartt Slim-fit Double-front Dungarees in Size 2 that are a great fit and I wear them all the time, but the fabric is really thick and hot--great in winter, but not so much in July. They're also a dark green color ("Moss") that I'm not crazy about, but the only other option is Black--even worse! Though the slim-fit double-front dungarees are a perfect fit (length, butt, waist...everything), I ordered and promptly returned a pair of Carhartt's Slim-fit Canvas Dungarees, also in size 2. You'd think Size 2 Slim-fits would be about the same, fit-wise, but they're not even close. They were much baggier and poorly sized than these original fit craw fords even though about being. I ordered (and returned) a pair of Work/garden pants from Duluth Trading, where unfortunately their smallest pants are Size 4, which not surprisingly, were way too big. I even tried to splurge on a pair of the Garden Girl USA pants in a Size 2, but a day later received an e-mail that the Size 2's were out of stock, and they aren't currently producing any more that size. I was really attracted to the fact that both the Duluth's and the Garden Girls were designed with a built-in slot for optional knee pads--very useful in the garden! After reading tons of reviews, I decided to try these Carhartt original fit Crawfords, whereas before I was primarily focused on their slim-fit pants, but several women in my size range declared that these were a good fit for them. I still believe slim-fit's would be better on me, and it may be that part of my perception of these pants being so huge is that their design is much roomier than I'm used to (that wouldn't explain my need for a well-cinched belt or a proper hem job, though). I know there are plenty of petite women out there with the same dilemma I"m having (online product reviews and comments are filled with them), so why aren't any of these companies making pants that would fit us? Have any of you found any work pants that would truly fit someone in the XS-S size range? I don't believe many of these companies have the same concept of what "Size 2" means, as do the retail stores (which also stock size 0 and occasionally 00, but still have an appropriate size 2). The fact I'm small doesn't mean I'm not working just as hard as anyone else any larger than I am, and I tend to be really tough on my body and my clothes while I'm out there "doing" stuff. If anyone from Carhartt (or any other workwear brand) is reading this, I implore you to please keep us little gals in mind!

These have a double sewn knee so you can slip in knee pads, ample pockets, loose but not baggy fit, very comfortable. In Canada they were $35 cheaper then the best retail price I could get in my cityI'd buy again for sure

Perfect fit!
I’m 5’7” and 185lbs. I got a size 14 regular and they fit perfectly! I prefer a tall in pants but the regular seems long enough. They just touch the floor (they won’t drag in the mud which is nice). These pants are very comfortable. They are a lighter and softer material. I don’t know how they will hold up on the job but they look and feel great, which is half the battle.

Solid work pants
Fits as expected. Very tough pants, not the first nor last Carhartt pants I'll own.
