Perfect outdoor lights! Updated
Tired of replacing the regular holiday string lights over our pool, we decided to splurge and buy actual commercial grade lights. While they are a little more expensive, the quality certainly makes up for the cost. Very sturdy lights and if one light goes out, they stay lit! Tip: the strands are heavier than holiday string lights so if you are stringing more than one strand together, make sure they are tightly secured at the connection. The company recommends hanging them with steel wire and zip ties. We also purchased extension chord safety protectors. The lights are bright but a warm white and are not overpowering. We hung four strands and it completely illuminates the area around the pool but without the harshness of floodlights.I do want to mention Royal Light's excellent customer service. The lights were packed very well so I have no idea what happened in transit but several bulbs were broken when they arrived. I sent an email to customer service, received a very quick response and had replacement bulbs in two days! Absolutely no hassle! It's nice to find a company that stands by their product. And the three year warranty is an additional bonus!Update: Although we do still love these lights, I felt I should update this review to state that we would not recommend them for over a pool. They are very heavy and they came apart even taped together and with an outlet clamp at the connect points. The manufacturer suggested zip ties which we also did but although they did not completely come apart, they did still pull apart enough that they went out and the entire thing had to be taken down again. After four goes, we decided to reconfigure the lights so that they no longer hang over the pool and hang supported against the house. They are still great lights and we still use them and would buy them again but I would not recommend them in an unsupported configuration.

... patio two weeks ago and I must say I love them. I replaced my old and cheap string ...
I ordered these string lights for my patio two weeks ago and I must say I love them.I replaced my old and cheap string lights I had in my patio with this string light and I must say it looks way better, the wire and the sockets looks much more durable and made to last, the light that comes off the bulbs looks much better. These string lights are really heavy duty and looks like they are going to last at least a few years. The book was fun and easy to read and I really liked the planning chapter in it. It will save me a lot of money when I will decorate for Christmas or renovate the house. The reason I’m giving only four stars and not five is because the package comes with too many wrapping in it. Big box, bulbs are in separate small carton boxes wrapped in plastic so it’s kind of annoying to unpack. Besides that, I think it’s a great product with superior quality then the common versions that are being sold here and in Walmart or Costco.Meital Obmain

Garbage Chinese Product
EDIT: Was contacted shortly after my initial review by Royal Lighting to rectify my issues. Sent a new set within 24hrs and it seems my previous product was defective. The sockets are still tight, you have to really screw the bulbs in and i’ve bought previous brands that I still think are a step above quality and cord strength than these but for the price and length, these will do great for a simple backyard patioOLD: Couldn’t find the original string lights I bought a year or so ago so I bought these. Horrible chinese replica. The cord itself is thin and flimsy, the plastic feels about half as dense and i had to cut at least half of the sockets for the lightbulbs with scissors as the rubber/plastic was so far past the metal contact for the bulbs, they wouldn’t screw in. These are junk. find a different product elsewhere

The Best / Very Heavy Duty
These string lights are the best that I have seen; they have the look of old Edison light bulbs, but are heavy duty and weatherproof. I like the idea and energy savings of LED bulbs, but you just can't beat the look of the old school incandescents. Warm and beautiful. Perfect. The only thing I would say is that the packaging for the bulbs is not the greatest. When multiple boxes of string lights are purchased, they are sent in a larger box with bubble wrap. But the individual boxes themselves have no cushioning. I read a few reviews about broken bulbs, so I made sure that I checked every bulb in the 4 boxes I ordered. Each box did have a couple broken bulbs, so I contacted "Royal Light." They replied immediately, and sent me 15 new bulbs at no charge. This great customer service more than made up for the bulb issue. Very nice folks, and great product for your next backyard party!

Appears to be a good quality product
the lights arrived promptly and well packaged. I had to insert each bulb into its socket, but used reasonable care and all worked. I did have to reach into several of the sockets and pry up the center contact with my fingernail to get it to make contact with the bulb. The rubber socket fits tightly around the bulb which is necessary to be watertight. the bulbs are well spaced (about 30 inches apart). One spare bulb was included. The only criticism I have is that the eyelets are moulded inline with the power cord which means you have to use a wire or carabiner to hook it to a support cable, rather than sliding on to the cable directly. Do not know what bulb life will be, nor replacement cost of a bulb.

Great Outdoor Lights
I ordered 4 sets of lights to replace other non-operating lights. The rubber quality on the cord is excellent, the lights are bright. The customer service I received by Royal Lighting is also top notch. I recommend these lights to all in need of outdoor, patio lights. We've hung 6 strands in a zig zag pattern from the house patio, over the pool, to the trees on our hill and back. They look awesome!UPDATE: since we added two more strands together, and hung them taught the weight of the strands cause them to separate, therefore the lights not working. We’ve added zip ties to each connecting side to hold them together and duct tape. Not too crazy about the tape, however it was necessary.
