Very informative book. Alot of the stuff in here i have not found anywhere else but really opened up how i view these practices. There are different schools of internal alchemy and so this can make things very confusing to someone not initiated in the practices. I have read quite a few books on internal alchemy and i would have to say this one resonates most with me. It is a book to be studied over and over again, absorbing and processing each little sentance. I like how the book shows original chinese characters from the classics with commentary to help understand. This book will be one that i will have near my side for the rest of my life i am sure. Even still, it is ideal to have a live teacher with these practices, some even say that is the only way to achieve anything in internal alchemy.. the good thing is stuart actually offers mini classes on his website where you can meet and talk with him online about his books and he will help you understand.

Great book on a mysteries subject.
I own about 10 books on internal alchemy. This book provides the best explanation.I like the structure of having short original text translated with long detailed commentaries. The reason is once you understand the what is being taught, you go back and read just the short orginal. Rereading to test your understanding or reviewing only takes a couple minutes.Very good introduction. Covers all the background needed before internal alchemy is attempted. This book is is asset for non-Chinese that are interested in what all those daoist are doing in their monastry.
