I tested these binoculars in a variety of conditions. Against a bright backlit sky, they do have some purple/green fringing. A little chromatic aberration is not uncommon, but for the price of these binoculars I would expect less of it.I took them out bird watching recently about an hour before sundown on an overcast day, and found that they captured the light very well. I had no trouble distinguishing between tree swallows and violet green swallows from across a large pond even on this late, cloudy afternoon.They are fairly lightweight and they have a small profile, and the rubber coating feels tough, like it is well bonded to the metal. They feel pretty solid, as well.As is often the case, I found that these don't fit my eyes very well; I have a medium-sized head, but my eyes are a tiny bit closer together than average, and these eyepieces just won't adjust that close together. I can see through them okay, but the image only overlaps for about 2/3 of the view. I feel I should note that the rubber straps that hold the protective end caps will prevent the eyepieces from dialing as close together as they can if you remove them.These binoculars come with a fabric bag with its own strap, and with a strap is included for the binoculars as well. At this price I would have liked more carrying options.Overall, I think these are nice binoculars, although I do feel that the price is pretty steep for what you get.
