There's not a whole lot that can differ from one brand to another when it comes to vacuum storage bags, the main differentiators being "do they work?" and "for how long?". In about a month of use, none of mine have failed, performing far better than popular but sub-mediocre brands. Vacwel's vacuum storage bags are top notch and they know it - the bags have a lifetime warranty. This is great, sure, but it isn't the motivation for this review. Vacwel's service differentiates them from the norm even more than outstanding product quality.Vacwel's personalized response to my product registration was doubtfully computer generated. The "thank you for registering" email addressed a user error flippantly mentioned when registering for the warranty, offering to fix a scatterbrained goof (and went well beyond that) without charge. Specific, detailed attention to a single transaction is astonishing and has quickly resulted in additional purchases and steadfast brand loyalty.

These are somewhat helpful, in that they keep bulky items contained. What they DON'T do (and my whole reason for buying them) is keep those items compressed and air tight. I'm trying to manage some large comforters. We followed the instructions, even did the extra recommendations for best performance. It wasn't easy wrestling them into the bag, but it seemed to work great at first! Huge fluffy comforters went from 2+ feet tall and uncontrollable, down to an easily-stackable 5 or 6 inches. Yay! But by day 3, they were expanded to nearly full size. The other sketchy design issue is the small clip that helps you close the bag. It's not integrated into the bag itself, so it easily pops off and is difficult to get back on. I'll likely toss them and use some flat-nose pliers (fingers will work, but it's pretty uncomfortable). May also try using some heavy mailing tape over the top and little vacuum port. I just wish they worked as promised.===Update: Nope, even with a couple layers of heavy cello packing tape all the way across the top and vacuum port, my blankets are close to their regular size after a couple of days. Bummer.

We live near the Naval Academy and rent our home for commissioning week. Because we use separate linens for renters, I wanted a way to store them in less space. I got these and the jumbo bags. And they are great in theory, and when they work, it’s awesome. But from the time of purchase, I would say just over half of them actually hold the suction (right out of the packaging from their first use, seals checked, and bags kept away from anything sharp). I’m still using them because they do keep the linens away from dirt and dust, so I can wash them and pack them away for the next year. But if I were really in a pinch for space and needed them to stay vacuum sealed, I would be disappointed. Since I didn’t reach out for replacements as they recommend doing, I can’t comment on customer service. Great idea-they just don’t all work as they should.

These Vacwel bags really live up to their claim! After a full month, all 4 of the bags have maintained their seal perfectly. As far as I can tell there's zero leakage.Before Vacwel, I tried the Space Saver bags, and 4 out of 4 lost their vacuum within a week (or a few even overnight). I resealed them again with the same failed result. I swapped them out with other Space Saver bags from the same box -- same result.Not sure what the difference is, but Vacwel actually delivers.

I never jumped on the vacuum storage bag wagon..., then we moved to a much smaller house. I wanted to keep blankets and pillows for visitors. As you’ll see in the photo, these VacWell bags are a great solution. That’s eight pillows on one shelf, with room to spare. I also stored seven bulky quilts on a shelf. And had fun doing it. I had problems with a couple of the bags, but the VacWell representative responded quickly, solving my issue.
