Better value & quality to price than you'd expect. generation better.
Returned another more complicated (AD249S-M) Andonstar for this one and I am very glad I did. This one is marginally easier to setup and expand later down the road. You're given actual USB ports for actual USB lights which means in the future repairs can be much simpler. The base is sturdy and compact. Nothing juts in the way of using the adjustment knobs. Thank you for a good product. And thank you for the hdmi mini to hdmi regular cable!

As advertized
Truly excellent. The detail it reaches is amazing. Light weight and easy to use. I wish it moved right and left so I wouldn’t have to touch the slide once placed but that doesn’t change how effective this thing is.

Very much better for me that regular optical microscope
The concept is brilliant. A turret microscope crossed with a digital. The microscope part is really pretty decent. The stand lets it down. Too wiggly at the higher magnifications. I added a 4X lens to the turret. (the turret takes standard microscope lenses that thread in. It comes with two blank spaces so you can add your own) The 4X I added seems to be about 50X or so on screen. The next magnification is still perfectly usable but the highest magnification gets pretty wiggly. I reinforced the stand and it's much better. I think Andonstar spent the money on the microscope at the expense of the stand... which is a good thing. The non turret lens that comes with it works very well for all around use. An amazing range of magnification depending on how high you have the microscope. Bit of a pain to swap the heads to use it though. It would be great to have that lens in the turret but I suspect they would have put it there if they could. I hooked it up to my 65" TV and the images are truly amazing. Very sharp and clear.

Best purchase I’ve made for daily use with 6yr old and up littles.
After getting a terrible ‘kid’ microscope that ended up in the garbage, I found this one and we have been using it so often that we leave it set up on my kitchen island. While I originally purchased this microscope for my 6 and 8 yr old grandsons who visit weekly, the digital screen is so useful that I find myself using it almost daily for things like- gluing small parts together, finally sorting and cleaning a collection of micro shells I have collected over the years, cleaning fossils I had been meaning to get to for years, etc. Bonus- The controls are simple and not so finicky that the kids can’t experiment with them themselves and It’s sturdy enough that I’m not worried about the kids breaking parts off. I haven’t used the higher level microscope adapter yet- but I’m sure as the kids get a bit older we will break it out for slides and such. For now, I am so happy to have this microscope with its handy digital screen for use in our daily lives. I will upload some images of our set up soon.

Wobbly cheap plastic
NAAW miss me this microscope.. unless you have THE STEADINESS HANDS AND PATIENTS Dont mind the xrap basically a plastic 100 dollar piece of junk :( Very dissapointed. THE THING is so annoying and yeah cool it has a really cool screen on it... BUT WHATS THE POINT IF YOU CANT SEE ANYTHNG!! MAINLY because when you try to focus.. EVERYTHING STARTS TO MOVE (EVERYTHING) THE slides the whole machine starts to wobble and I can't SEE ANYYTHING BECAUSE OF THIS!!

Nice
I have a few complaints & some praises. I don't like the plastic. It is very flimsy. With such high magnification it is next to impossible to adjust because it is so flimsy. When adjusting the camera there is a detent that seems to always be right where I need to focus. So, I adjust the higth which doesn't work well either because of the backlash in the mechanism & the flex in the stand. I looked for the camera with these options in magnification with a metal stand but didn't find one. The camera & lenses are great. It has an amazing picture for the price. The lowest magnification that I use for soldering works great but it is pretty useless for the other two lenses with all the flex in the plastic. Also the slightest vibration is going to be seen with the higher magnification. It really needs to be more ridged. If you are working on the base it also has a pretty deep throat which allows about a 5" circuit board plenty of room.

Product Review
Had this camera about 2 weeks. It was easy to put together, nice quality pictures and great screen. The only problem that I have (and may cause me to return it), is the Measures software. This software is necessary to connect the camera to Windows by USB cable. You can connect by HDMI, but this consists of a HDMI cable this is not connected to anything. I am going to try and connect with their Tech support to see if we can resolve the problem. Just for reference, I am using Windows 11 home version. 4/24 - Tech support was very responsive and gave me a solution right away. The microscope comes with a cable that allows you to control the camera. You have to remove this cable and use a USB D-Link cable to connect to the PC. This works perfectly, it connects to the PC right away. But here is the downfall. If you don't use the cable that comes with it, then the remote control does not work. So now you have to use the buttons on the microscope to adjust images. Conclusion. If you don't need the remote control or extra features that come with the remote or if you are willing to only use the screen that comes with this microscope, then it works great. I like the screen that comes with the microscope, but my windows screen is 32 inches. Easier to see. Though I could probably get by without the remote control, it kind of defeats the purpose of paying for a remote if you are not going to use it. So I will probably be returning this to see if I can find one that connects to my PC and allows me to use the remote. 4/26 - Final Note: I purchased a $10 HDMI splitter that allows me to switch between the microscope and the monitor. Now I can view the microscope in full view and still use my remote. Everything works great.

Shaking only matters if you can't wait
This was by far the highest magnification for the absolute best price I could find. My partner Lost Their Mind getting it for xmas. All reviews said it shakes a bit, and my partner's response to that is essentially "yes, but I can wait a second for it to stop?" The lights and screen are fantastic. It's great that there are good standard lenses, but also room to put in some that you can get yourself- standard size! If you're like me (not a science nerd) please rest assured that this has a very science-y stamp of approval.

Value for money and then some!
This is quite excellent value for money. It is still a bit of a kids' microscope but it does an excellent job and I use it for informal lab pics just to give me an idea of things.
