This is such a great idea. We haven’t had one like this so we gave it a try as a flyer and it turned out to be just about the best knife holder we’ve ever seen. Instead of precut slots it has tiny rods which you can separate with the knife blades and crowd in a lot more knives and you could with the other kind. It’s easy to insert and remove. I’m very pleased with it.

I have a similar product that I got many years ago at a prominent bed and bath store. I love it and it holds many knives. Now that my sister's kids are grown and starting adult lives, I ordered 2 of these as presents. I chose this particular knife block because of the scissors holder, as that is the one thing missing from mine that would make it perfect.I didn't take these out of the boxes and inspect them, so I didn't actually see the product until I saw it on my niece's countertop. I was shocked at how small hers was compared to mine. She and her brother, the recipients of these knife blocks, are young and haven't acquired a lot of knives yet, so these blocks are functional for them and they seem to enjoy having a knife block they can clean in the dishwasher, but I will be looking for a larger product to replace these in a couple of years.

Product was shipped without the black bristles which actually hold the knives making it an empty wooden box and completely useless. Returned immediately.

Nice block! I haven't had one like this before with flexible opening. I like it. The opening is big and deep. Holds both of my knife sets.

This is the first knife block I have owned, and I absolutely love it! I like that there are no predetermined slots for the knives, so it holds all of the knives I own. It is compact so doesn't take up a lot of space. I have not tried washing the 'straws' yet, but it looks like they will be easy to remove and re-insert.
