Q: How do you fold it back up?

The round piece at the base of the sides slides one direction to lock it in place and the opposite direction to fold it back down.

Q: What is the size of the width slices in inches?

1/4th an inch to 1/2 inch sizes. I didn't see 3 thickness. I measured all the tines and they were either a little more than 1/4th an inch, and the rest measured 1/2 inch.

Q: I got this as a gift. It smells really bad. Any ideas of how to get rid of bad smell?

I just let my air out but it didnt really have a smell to it. Id try that and then maybe soak in vinegar to see if that will get rid of the smell.
