Perfect edger that's easy to use while providing professional results
I have a small front yard with minimal edging needed along front sidewalks, driveway and walkway to front porch. I didn’t want to deal with gasoline, electric cords or batteries. Very impressed at how well this edger performs and how little effort is required to achieve beautiful results. Excellent product and value.

Works great. Rubber on the wheels is a bit loose
Works great. Rubber on the wheels is a bit loose, a solid rubber wheel would have been better and mine came with damage in the handle. Nothing that would ruin the functionality just cosmetically it didn't look nice.

When the traditional tool is all you need.
This is simply a great tool. With a little elbow grease, it does what it says without any compromises. If you have never edged your lawn, it may be tough first go around. But once you put in some work it's even easier to use.The only downsize is the blade can get bent when traversing tough transitions. This the prevented the spoked wheel from turning. I just bent the blades back and it was back to doing its job.

Ok but cheaply made
I know I bought cheaply but I figured it was Ames and I got exactly what I paid for.Handle is great with the right length, diameter and a good group on the end.Frame of the cutter is thinner than I would like but good homeowner quality.Wheel and blades, again, homeowner. Don't look for more than a season or two before replacing. But, there is a scraper on the outside of the wheel to clear the blade and act as a guide along the sidewalk that is the cheapest piece of craftsmanship I have ever seen. They used light aluminum instead of steel. It bends easily and jams the blade to the point I cut it off. Also, they are telling on a low gauge spring to keep the blades and wheel positioned against the cheap guide. Threw out the spring, added a couple of washers and tightened everything up. Works much better. If you are looking to keep a short section of walk groomed after heavy duty edging is done, get this. If you are looking for something to get it done and last, look elsewhere.

Cheap, POOR quality, broken....
Well what can I say? After ordering this bad boy I though for sure it was going to take me back to my childhood; spending countless hours edging the sidewalk, driveway, etc.NOPE, after completing 5 feet of edge, both cutting blades were bent and unusable. Bring the person I am, I gave it the benefit of the doubt...straightened out the blades and gave her the beans!NOPE it’s a piece of junk, spend the money on something else like an electric one, or a hand spade that will get the job done...

Gets the job done
I remember using one of these when I was younger, before the major storefront retailers decided you couldn't buy them there any more. I was glad to find it at Amazon. It gets the job done. If you haven't edged in a while, the first go at it will be brutal, particularly on the nasty stuff we have for grass in Florida. If you are strong enough, you can actually wind up deforming the metal yoke that holds the wheel and blades, but that can be put back into shape by hand.Thereafter, edging the driveway and/or sidewalk should take no time at all, and you get a nice clean edge that is far sharper than what a string trimmer would give you, with no use of gas and no pollution or noise.

Average results and way too hard to use
I used this edger to edge all my walkways at the begining of last season, and then again after my first mowing this season. Between uses I used a string trimmer to maintain the edge. The edger produced a shallow, and relatively narrow edge along all my walkways. The edges were nice and straight and barring a few mistakes, they looked very nice. I would say that the results I obtained with this edger were marginally better than the edge I might have achieved with my string trimmer alone. High powered string trimmers, or powered edgers will likely produce a better result. The major problem that I have using this edger is the physical effort and time it takes to use it. Edging with this is by far the most physically strenuous yard task I do all year. The head of the edger sticks in thick grass/dirt, and requires me to repeatedly push back and forth with enormous force only to have the head of the device roll a few inches and stop as if it has hit a brick wall. I don't have a large lawn, or lots of walkways but this job takes hours. Even using it today on an edge that was maintained until the fall last year, the job was brutally tough. I can't bear to ever use this edger again. It's a torture device. If you absolutely don't want to use power tools, then this will work, but be warned that it is extremely difficult.

This is hard work
I only have the two sides of my drive way to do. So, why pay for and work with a gas one. the first time is always the hardest. From now on it's just maintaining it. It works just fine.
