Love this versatile die. By just changing designer papers and embellishments the haunted house can become a gingerbread house, a shabby chic Victorian mansion, etc. Excellent packaging and assembly instructions. The quality is superb.

I've been using my Gemini die cutting machines for a few years now, and I wanted to see how this Anna Griffin Carousel emboss and cut die would work with my machines.This is a beautiful 6-die set that has lots of detail, and it not only cuts out the shape but it will also emboss the cardstock that's used.After using it for about a week, I can say that it took me a number of attempts to get the die to cut and emboss the way I wanted. I tried 3 or 4 of the standard sandwich suggestions that came with my machines, and I also tried the one that came with this die itself from Anna Griffin.The first standard sandwich suggestion for my machine didn't cut through completely, but eventually, after trying various combinations the die cut cleanly, but still wasn't really embossed. To get it to emboss, I had to cut a second cardboard piece and refit it onto the top of the paper that was still left in the die. On my Gemini, Jr. I also tried a folded over paper towel under the paper to help press it to the die.I've read that these dies work best with an Anna Griffin embossing mat because it's slightly thicker than the one that comes with my machine. I will probably try using that next, and If it's a better solution, I will update here.So, using my Gemini cutters, this die works well and makes beautiful cuts in one operation, then you can change the sandwich to what works best for your machine and do the embossing in a second step. It takes some experimenting (I even got the sandwich stuck once!).The die works beautifully with some gold laminated cardstock I had.After some trial and error I got a beautiful result and would recommend this die, no matter what kind of cutting machine you own.

First, ALL Anna Griffin dies are overpriced!When completed, the Carousel die set is fantastic, but getting to completion might prove a challenge for a designer who owns only the standard manual or electric cutting machines.I am fortunate. I own the Big Shot Standard, Big Shot Plus, and Big Shot Pro. I also own the large Gemini electric cutting machine. Using the standard Big Shot is possible, but you must employ your "creative little grey cells" to make it happen.This particular die set is only for some beginners. There are Carousel die sets on the market that cost less and are not such a hassle.The quality of Anna Griffin dies can never be called into question. The same about ten other companies that provide high-quality dies that are more versatile include more pieces, and cost substantially less.This is a lovely product but could be a better value for the money!

I love carousels and when I saw this die I wanted it very much, I knew it might end up being a bit complicated to put together in a card or scrapbook page. When I got it it was so big, much bigger than I ex[ected and bigger than any other die I have. I wasn't sure it would fit through my cutter. I have a Gemini Junior and I checked the size of the die against the cutting plates and the die did fit the width of the plates. Lengthwise you can get all the front of the carosel and part of the back so you may need to piece it together depending on the size of your die cutting machine. I have never seen a Gemini bigger than the one I have, so I don't know how it would fit. It also comes with some instruction on the back of the package, something I wasn't expecting so didn't look for them. I only noticed them when showing it to my husband. I got this in the middle of my tax crunch time and now am trying to catch up with a lot of other things. As this will take full concentration on my part to make I am waiting for a day that I have no other irons in the fire when I make it. I love it and hope I can make it look wonderful.I apprciate getting this die so much to try out. Thank you.

The quality of these dies is excellent! So often intricate dies have bits that do not cut fully; this set cut through thoroughly.I think the samples included by Anna Griffin are so busy it's hard to really see what the card is supposed to look like, and I thought it was going to be very complicated. However it was very simple. I will say to anyone who is a novice crafter, glue the remaining elements onto the carousel BEFORE attaching the unit to the background carousel with foam dots. The first picture shows you the cutouts, the second shows you the correct way to fold the base, the third shows you the closed card, and the last, the easel set up. I used thin, cheap cardstock just to make it clear how it comes together, but it seems to work fine for being so thin. Still, I would use a heavier cardstock. Also, the happy birthday is from my scrap drawers; I just placed it there to show you that you have to put some kind of 3D greeting or embellishment so that the easel can be displayed.

I have a gemini jr and an old cuttlebug and the only long plates I have are for the cuttlebug. I've never had trouble cutting on it, and the plates are fairly new, but htis is just so big, I can't get a nice even neat cut on the whole thing. The hand crank cuttlebug seems to do better if I put the dies in at an angle, but these are too big for that. I think you really need the bigger die cutting machines to use this properly even though my plates are big enough.

I ordered this die set. And I received the Ginger bread die set instead.Amazon wasn’t helpful in resolving the issue.I waited 2 weeks for the arrival…
