BRIKSMAX Light For Lego Back-to-the-Future-Time-Machine 10300 - Led Lighting Kit Compatible with Lego Creator Expert 10300 - Not Include the Lego Set

This is the fourth set of Briksmax lights I've bought for my husband's Lego sets. They compliment the sets brilliantly and really bring them to life. The quailty is superb and the instructions are really clear and easy to follow. The lights/wires obviously need to be teeny, which means they can be a bit fiddly. They're not cheap, but are great quality.

Nothing to dislike. Arrived on time even though I ordered it the Morning before. I was notified of it's delivery before it arrived. Can't fault the process.

I love Brixmax products and have used half a dozen but this one has me frustrated. The Lego kit offers three versions of the deLorean - the one at the start of BTTF1 is different from the one at the end, and in later episodes it changes again. The box for these lights shows version 2 but the instructions are for version 1, and I'm not sure they allow me to use all the lights in the box! Also, I wish they'd upgrade their manuals, the photos are muddy and lack definition...

The front lights don’t work and the power pack that comes with it also doesn’t seem to have enough power to run the lights. The other lights work fine plugged into the mains. The wire from the usb to the board gets extremely hot when the faulty front lights are connected so much so I burnt my fingers on it. The lights also dim with the faulty lights attached. I’ve emailed them and they’ve said to send a picture of the fault. It’s either a cable or the board so not sure how they’re going to diagnose the fault from a picture. I’m wary about buying lights form this company now due to other reviews on their light kits stating overheating and faulty remotes. It seems they got cheap Chinese components and stuck their name on them with a high premium.

The original Lego kit itself is an 18+ kit, so my headline is quite obvious, but I figured I should reiterate for any grandparents out there looking for gift ideas. Everything looks amazing on the finished product but it is a herculean task for people inexperienced with wiring like myself. The way the pieces with LEDs fit together will itch your brain the entire time, and glue in some spots may be required for peace of mind if you're anxious like me. Someone else suggested watching videos for the best cable management, which I wish I did because the instruction books don't provide much help in that regard. For my kit I built the whole thing from scratch while installing the lights. I thought it would be easier that way than retrofitting from the completed set like the instructions are laid out. I don't recommend this. It took way too much deciphering of the light kit instructions to get the order right and was more mentally complicated overall. Disassembly to install will still be a pain in the butt, but not nearly as much.
