Easy to Clean, Works Great!! The Turtle Almost Seems too Happy :)
Once set up, it is extremely easy to clean this filter. You essentially pull out the filter cartridge and rinse it with water and pop it back it, done! Takes less than 2 minutes!! I've had other filters that didn't work as well and were time-consuming or hard to clean. This charcoal filter gets the job done and makes the turtle happy. It does make a water noise, hence 4/5 starts.

really powerful but loud
It did not work when I got it. But I figured out the pump had come undone in shipping. It works ok. I have had filters that worked better. It is loud too and I do not think my turtle likes it. I will give it a week.

great filter, nice power, nice color too
The media could not be loaded. this filter is good, it’s simple , helps me use less water since i no longer have to fill the tank up all the way, it works with about 2-3 inches of water (guessing) i included photos and a video , the sound is not bad, the water isn’t falling from a crazy height even at a very low height (like i have it) if you fill your tank with more water then it’ll sound even less, i sleep fine, the filter itself works grey, keep water clean 🧼 🧽, it’s not much water i have, also i feed my turtles sperstely not the tank the filter is in but in a bucket to keep the main tank even more clean, but yeah, the water stays clear and clean for a while (1-2 weeks, before i need to refill or just change completely, i like my habitat cleaaaann)pros:-filters great for the amount of water i have-not too noisy-super easy to clean unlike other filters, simply open up top, remove old filter, clean with brush or something, and you’re good to go-dirt / shit / objects won’t prevent the filter from working, it has a cover or the suction so it’ll keep on pulling, lol no worries there-green colored filter, different from the sea of black filters (this is more of a personal taste than an actual pro feature, the green makes it look more like a habitat than a generic tank/cage )cons:-filters are somewhat expensive right now (may 2021) , they sell it in 3pks only as well (that i could find, also, this is more of an opinion than an actual con, you may be rich and so filter costs are not a concern/ worry for u 😄)

Looks pretty good, very noisy.
The media could not be loaded. I have just received this filter today (Aug 8) and set it up in my tank. This filter is very noisy. It almost sounds like there are air bubbles inside that it can't purge. I held the filter underwater and shook it to try to get the bubbles to escape, but it doesn't stop the excess noise. Power cycling changes the noise, but doesn't eliminate it.The filter housing itself is pretty neat, and comes apart pretty easily for cleaning. There is just a power head sideways under the filter holder insert that slides into the outer casing. It might be the pieces of the housing amplifying the noise of the filter though.*Edit* Dec 6The filter has stopped making that noise and is working fine. I bumped it to 4 stars as it still has some flaws. The suction cups are fairly unreliable. It is usually hanging on by one after a few hours, though whichever decides it will hold typically will for a few days. I do wish more manufacturers would switch to magnetic mounts, they hold in place much better than suction cups, especially over time. I might fabricate something to hang it.That being said, this is quickly overwhelmed by turtle debris. It is kind of what I expected, so I have a sponge filter to assist. The pump doesn't have a prefilter aside from the cuts in the green shell. A lot of smaller debris that would have been caught by the intake strainer for a HOB or canister simply get pumped to the filter media itself. I need to rinse the filter off pretty often. Once he moves to his next tank he is getting a canister.

Works efficiently
The media could not be loaded. Works efficiently, easy to clean and keeps the water cleaner for longer. Also very quiet

Stopped working after 2 months
I’ve had this filter before for my turtle. Bought this one when my other went bad after a few years. This one only lasted 2 months. It completely stopped working and I tried to fix it, but the motor wasn’t spinning and was very loud. Would not recommend this, at least not off of amazon

I want to love this filter system ..but…
I’ve been using the filter system for over a week now. Yes, my turtle tank ( 40 gallon) is pretty clean which is great, but this filter is driving me nuts. First off the cord was not in the proper place when I received it and I had a heck of a time and one phone call to the company because I could not get the black interior box out to re position the cord. I was so afraid I’d break something . The customer service person was very nice and assured me I wouldn’t break “ something “ . It took a pair of players and some real muscle to get the black interior box out. And the pump was not connected at all to the black box. I have tried numerous times to get it to say put when re assembling and it’s a battle. It just won’t hold tight enough to the box. So if I lay it on it’s side to assemble and CAREFULLY put it in the tank it might stay. But not always. Then, the thing is noisy. Like other people have said, it overflows all over the top of the green box so not exactly filtering all the water , pops, grinds, and sinks clear to the bottom of the turtle tank. Obviously the suction cups won’t hold it in place with all the vibrating, popping and overflowing water…sigh …. I placed a small piece 1/12 inch high marble under the filter to keep it off the bottom of the tank. That helped…a little. Honestly I really want to like this filter. I’ll call the company again now that I’ve had it a week to see if they can suggest anything else to remedy all the issues . The best I can say is that is that it has kept the tank relatively clean. Not sparkling clean by any means . But just as good as the expensive exterior canister pump that I preciously had. So that’s something LOL!

Works great
Bought this for a slider. Got it today. We put the river rock substrate in and it was really cloudy (picture 1) at 3:30 pm. Three hours later at 6:30 pm, the water was substantially clearer (picture 2).

Quiet Zilla Filter
I likes this a very nice quiet & more room to add my ammonia, carbon, foam, & biofiltration stones in the zilla filter. More powerful nice to keep clean water for my aquatic turtle. Perfect & Awesome! :)

Good but a little loud
Cycles a ton of water per hour. Very good at keeping an aquatic turtle tank clean. My only gripe is that it is a bit loud. As in you an't do things like read next to it. Something I enjoyed doing to keep my turtle company

Broke after 1 day

Waste of money.
This filter is garbage. I've only had it one month and it has already stopped working even though it was cleaned regularly. Don't waste your money.
