ESL staple, but limited use
I love these cards for our local ESL group, but I do feel they are a bit limited in scope. It's good for introducing basic vocabulary and increasing awareness, but once the concepts are mastered, they are difficult to continue to engage with. That being said, I do feel that at home in the ESL group, the cards are always being used as there are always new folks joining up and bringing these out again for use. It's nice to see members that have been meeting with the group for a longer time getting these out to help newer members or to figure out a word or phrase they are stuck on.

Nice for a multi-lingual daycare; flimsy with hit or miss pronounciation help
This is a box of 20 cards depicting clothing items. The English word is bolded and then the name of the item is written in 16 additional languages. There is a symbol key they you need to refer to; the languages are only specified by symbol on the cards. For some languages there is a pronounciation aid but not all. This is an expensive set for 20 cards. They are not laminated so won't have much longevity. Our in-office day care has a few native Thai speaking children. The Thai language offerings have no pronounciation help. That means the teacher really has no use for these cards unless she/he speaks Thai. The photos are clear and I like that they show clothes on a clothesline. That is how most of the world dries their clothing so it is culturally appropriate. Disappointed in the lack of pronunciation help for all the languages; it makes these less useful than they intended,

Great for Special Ed
These are colorful, study, glossy, and well designed. And while I love the images chosen and they way they are presented, I especially love how easy they are to strategize and use based on the BACK of the card. Each image name is printed on the back of the card in several languages, and the languages are easy to find based on an icon (like: Spade for Thai, X for Polish, * for Portuguese) so you can scan the card quickly and find the word you're looking for with just the 1-character indicator. Well made, excellent for their use. Our special needs son attends after-school enrichment program with several other children who have autism and other learning/cognitive/physical complications, and this is a fantastic addition to their language activities.

Covers Basic Vocabulary
This set is ok. They are flash cards, the ones I received only teach the vocabulary for basic clothing types. It is cool that there are so many languages included on each card. I was a little bummed that there wasn't a Latin alphabet equivalent for the Thai words, and there is no pronunciation guide on any of the languages. These cards have a lot of information on them, they could be helpful to learn some basic vocabulary.

Way too pricey for what you get
I got the 20 pack about clothing. If you think learning 20 different words about clothing (like shorts, shirt, pants etc.) in 17 languages is worth $15 bucks then go for it. To me it is way overpriced, I’ll stick with Rosetta Stone. My wife is a nonnative English speaker and these were still wasted on her.

Wonderful selection of image for vocabulary reviews of all kinds, whether the child is working on a new language or merely speech and general.
