Good Cutting Board
This is a large piece of plastic that you cut things on and, for that, it excels. There is not much technology here, just an expansive cutting surface that is relatively easy to clean considering its size. The size is probably the drawback in that it can be a bit cumbersome to clean in the sink, won't fit in many dishwashers, and will probably have to be stored wherever you put your baking sheets. But that's also the advantage - plenty of room to cut 3-4 different items while keeping them separate. There's really nothing to deduct a star for based on my experience so far, but time will tell in terms of durability, warpage, etc.[Update] After 2+ years of use, this cutting board is going strong. No warping or grooves cut into it. It's still perfectly flat and smooth enough to be sure it's good and clean after washing. The size is still the trade off, but I now have enough use on it to say that it is well worth the compromise for me.

Perfect Material and Size
This is exactly what I ordered. Delivered in a timely manner too. I had a glass one and while it was sturdy and easy to clean it was way too noisy, and I would find my knives would need sharpening way too often. When you pay extra for good knives you don't want to abuse them by scraping them on glass. Obviously then, a quiet, knife friendly cutting board was on my wish list. I didn't like wood because of it's porosity and therefore, would require as much time cleaning as I did preparing the food.Finding this HDPE plastic was the perfect solution. It is a very dense plastic which has been approved for use with food. As far as I know, the only plastic approved for use with food preparation. It's not as porous as wood, and therefore, not as soft and a little harder on the knife blade, but for me it was the perfect compromise. My knives maintain their sharp blade much longer and it is far quieter to work on.Finally, the size, 15 x 20, is large, but it is exactly what I wanted because I like to cut up vegetables, etc., and put the waste to one side while I work, and then when finished gather up the waste and throw it all at once in the recycling container. I think therefore, the size you choose should reflect your work habits as well as your available space.

Stanton Trading 1/2-Inch Cutting Board
I recently replaced the tiny `doll house' sink in an RV with a real kitchen sink. The only problem there was new sink took up more space than the original tiny one and the original sink had covers that doubled as counter space. Now I have a totally awesome sink and no counter space. I ordered this cutting board to use as a sink cover. It works perfect. It was easy to cut and shape with regular wood working tools. A cove bit on the router worked perfectly to fit the cutting board securely on top of the new sink. It won't move, slide or fall in. The only thing is, with it being winter, when it's very cold in the RV the cutting board fits really tight with no play. After it warms up after the heat is turned on, there is a little play in the fit. It still fits well and won't fall into the sink but it tells me that it does expand and contract with temperature changes. Just thought someone would like to know.

On balance, the best cutting board material you can find
It's not easy finding an HDPE cutting board! And this one comes in a few different sizes and colors. (Pay attention to that, because some sizes may not fit in your dishwasher (like this 15x20 version).HDPE is not quite as soft on your knife as wood, but it's pretty easy on the knife. And it's certainly not as beautiful. But, while there seems to be some studies that show antimicrobial properties of some types of end-grain wood, you really need to have discipline and diligence to keep that highly porous surface sanitary. And if you choose a composite like an Epicurean that you can put in the dishwasher, it's harder on the knife and some are manufactured with some nasty materials. Glass is without a doubt the best material from a health & ecological point of view, but it is also the worst on your knife. And as an important aside, while wood can't go in the dishwasher and composite, acrylic and plastic can, that is somewhat of a red herring, as some dishwashers will not get hot enough to kill all microorganisms in what is likely a scarred surface. The truth is, if you are dealing with raw meats, you really just need to either spray/wipe OR soak in water with a little bleach and let air dry, then rinse. No matter the material.Which brings me to plastic, if you have to sanitize with dilute bleach no matter the material, then you might as well use material that is both easy on your knife and that can place in the dishwasher. But most plastics will warp in the dishwasher. To avoid the warping you need high density polyethylene over just polyethylene. The former will hold up to heat while the latter will warp. For me the pros:+ Easy on your knives+ Food grade material approved for use in commercial kitchens+ Easy to clean and maintain for most jobs+ Won't warp in the dishwasher+ Not as bad for the environment as some compositesOutweigh the cons:- Not as good for the environment as using sustainable wood or glass- You need to watch for scarring over time and replace- It needs to be designed with a lip to catch overflow fluidsOverall, I would use this board for most jobs in the kitchen, unless you are a diligent and committed wood lover.

I put it in the dishwasher once and it warped.
This is a big, solid cutting board. But it warped when I ran it in the dishwasher. Hand wash this only.

Really thick and heavy duty
I didn't actually purchase this as a cutting board, although I think it'd be a great one.. It's very heavy weight and larger than most cutting boards...I would imagine it would stay put when cutting on it and would be very easy to wash..I'm using it to go under my microwave.. We're redoing our kitchen and I painted our countertops.. I didn't want to risk the heavy microwave scratching the new surface, so I ordered this cutting board to go under it as protection. It was the right size at the right price in the right color.. Don't think I could have found anything better.. Very happy with purchase..
