Nice Guarding
I bought this for a 13" MacBook Pro (Dual Core) unibody (purch. 12/09). Its predecessor was the 15" MacBook Pro Intel Core, and I noticed after having the computer for about a year that the surface where my right palm rested was scratched and had black marks - not that it affected the use, but it bothered me. I wasn't sure if the new unibody frame was a different material (it seems to be) but figured that since Macs last for years, I'd rather hedge my bets and get the guard. The guard/trackpad cover (they come together)is in a long, slim heavy duty paper/board slip. Instructions on the back lists the steps (with pics): Clean computer, Remove backing, Align, Press. The entire thing is silver and almost perfectly matches the color of the frame. It's not very thick, although you can see the line where it ends. I have a Speck case on mine so the lip of the guard is only visible at the top.INSTALLATIONI sprayed Windex on a paper towel and wiped the trackpad/palm area (this guard will cover the entire bottom of your Mac from the bottom of the keyboard down).-It took about a minute to line it up perfectly, and even when I had it down so/so there was a little lip hanging over the side so I pulled it up and realigned it (even though I already had pressed down, it lifted easily, which I'm hoping means if I want to remove it I shouldn't have problems). I followed the guide and started at the bottom, focusing on aligning it with the indent below the trackpad to I could tell it was even. Once I was satisfied I'd fixed it, I ran it from bottom to top down on the body and pressed again.-The trackpad cover is not as thick as the guard. It does get air bubbles (which I didn't have a problem with on the palm guard), so make sure you run it up smooth from the bottom to the top. I pulled it halfway up the first time once I noticed the bubbles.USEThe guard and pad have a bit of a texture to them - it's not bad, but it's not as smooth as the frame. I didn't really notice it after about 5 minutes. The "moshi" logo is at the bottom righthand corner, hardly noticeable unless you look right at it.My concern was that the trackpad guard would interfere with "tap" clicking (using a finger to select something by just tapping the pad, not actually pressing down). To my surprise, it is not much different from when it wasn't on there. Two and three-finger scrolling works like usual and one-finger tapping takes a barely noticeable bit more pressure but I'm sure I'll get used to it.I'll post more once I've had it for a while, as far as durability and clean-up (since I read a review that said it got sticky.Overall, if it helps keep my beloved MBP a little safer, it'll be worth every penny.

Better than I expected
I usually don't do reviews, but this one compelled me to write one. I bought this for my Macbook Pro 13" because ever since I purchased it, I'd been freaking out about staining the palm-rest. Most people would agree that apart from the great functional properties of Macs (and other Apple products), there's an aesthetic appeal and nothing would detract from this more than discoloration. So I went ahead and purchased this, as I'd been looking for a reasonably priced protector for this specific part of my Mac. Now, for a college student, paying close to $20 for two pieces of plastic (or whatever material this thing is made of) is still too pricey. But you can always count on Amazon to at least knock a few bucks off the original price and upon seeing the construction of this, I feel a little better. The palmguard fits PERFECTLY. When buying this, I had read some reviews saying that the color of this is a bit darker than the aluminum of the Macbook, which made me nervous, because having it look tacky is probably almost as bad as having it develop a stain. But I was so pleased to see that it's actually exactly the same color. As far as I can tell, the very slight difference in the in *appearance* of the color has to do with the material being different and the fact that there is a seam. It ends up being a *tad* bit darker, but it's nothing conspicuous. And I was also happy to see how tiny and discrete the "moshi" logo in the corner is.Some people have also mentioned not wanting to or not having applied the track-pad protector because it's a pity to cover up the smooth feel and appearance of the glass. I agree that the glass trackpad is beautiful, but I felt as though my fingers would somehow always get sweaty against the surface of the trackpad, stick to it, and create unattractive smudges. The same would happen to my wrists on the palm-rest. The material of this palmguard, though it does not feel as spectacular as the sleek aluminum unibody and smooth trackpad, is actually not bad at all and somehow, it causes my wrists and fingers to stick to it less. Also, note that the trackpad protector DOES NOT reduce the sensitivity of the trackpad (the material of the trackpad protector is slightly thinner). I have no issues with it in that sense, especially since I have the "tap to click" option disabled because when I had it on, I'd always accidentally click things while scrolling. However, these are the *only* issues I'd bring up:When you apply both of the stickers (that's basically what they are), naturally, there's a slight raise; so between the trackpad protector and the palmguard, the seam creates a little bit of space in which I am afraid dirt particles and such might get stuck over time. Also, the adhesive seems quite strong, so I hope that doesn't create any problems in the future. But these are tiny issues compared to the practicality of purchasing this product and weren't concerning enough to me to knock off a star. And you can always opt not to apply the trackpad protector, as I don't think it would have the same staining problem as the aluminum parts. It gets the job done without detracting from the appearance of the Mac, so it's worth it.

Excellent palm rest protection for your Macbook Pro
I've had my PalmGaurd for almost a month since purchasing both it and my MBP and it's held up very nicely to pretty rigorous use. Prior to buying my MBP, I noticed that the laptops of friends of mine had a tendency to get icky blemish marks where the palms rested, and as I plan to re-sell my laptop at some point to upgrade, I wanted to keep it in as pristine condition as possible. The PalmGaurd is very easy to apply -- it's not *quite* like applying a sticker or skin, but has pretty much the same principal. I've also been able to lift it up slightly to remove flecks of stuff that sometimes stick to the stickum and flatten it back down nicely to the computer. The PalmGaurd is made of a nice material that mimics very convincingly both the smooth, aluminum feel and look of the actual Macbook. People don't tend to notice it until they look pretty closely at my computer, and see either the faint "moshi" logo on the PalmGuard or the faint line at the keyboard island where the PalmGuard ends. With about a month of use, the PalmGuard still looks just as new as when I first bought and applied it. The only thing that bugs me slightly is that lint and dust will collect about the edges where a teeny bit of stickum is exposed. I usually can clean it off fairly easily and flatten the PalmGuard back down, but aesthetically it's a bit annoying sometimes. But it isn't a big deal for me.Overall, 4 stars. It does it's job, it looks great and it's a reasonable price. I highly reccommend this accessory for anyone looking to keep their MBP looking pretty good, especially if you intend to re-sell.
