Perfect for re-using Nespresso pods
To say I am 100% satisfied with this product would be an understatement. In 2019, my husband and I were gifted with a Nespresso Vertuoline coffee maker. We loved the coffee it made, but it didn’t take long to see that purchasing pods for it was going to be expensive. Additionally, our preferred coffee was unavailable in the pre-filled pods. So after a little searching, I found the foil caps on Amazon that allowed me to re-use the pods filled with my preferred coffee. They worked about 98% of the time, but they were not that easy to use. The biggest problem we had with them was getting the foil cap aligned precisely so that it didn’t pop open when used. And then, there was the clean-up that required removing the foil cap that was now stuck on the pod. To cap (haha) it all off, I was also spending a lot of money for those foil caps: over $300 since 2019. I kept hoping a better solution would present itself.Fast forward to a little over a month ago when I discovered this gem. They are unbelievably simple to use; just add your favorite coffee to the pod, top it off with this lid (make sure you have the correct side up!), place the pod in the Nespresso and go. And, they are simple to clean. Oh, did I mention that they will save you a LOT of money. We have been using these lids every day for over a month and they have performed without a single failure. Life is good!

The best of the Vertuo hacks
I really like the Nespresso Vertuo platform...what I don't like is the extortion I face when I go to buy the capsules. This product is a solid solution to using your own coffee and still getting good brew results (and the crema for which the Vertuo is so famous for). Be sure to use a fine espresso grind for best results. I used a foil lid sealing system before this and ditched it as the seals often did not seal properly, were messy and slow to process, and did not solve the throwaway component issue (foil lids). These silicone lids are food grade, impart no flavor, and are going on their second year of use. Great Product! Note: avoid overfilling the pods lest the "red light of doom" alert you to excessive back pressure on the center punch needle of your Vertuo machine.

It seems to work well - Vertuo Next machine
I was using foils, cheap at first, then the better foils with the liner on them. But I started having a leakage problem, not from the adhesive sides, but through the top hole. I never had an adhesive issue. Up to 1/2 - 3/4 oz of coffee would end up in the catch bin on a 7.77 refilled pod. Less on smaller ones. Once in a while, no leak but I have to pull it out every single time to see. With this product, when I used it, there was less than 1/4 tsp of liquid coffee on a 7.77 pod, the crema was headier and lasted longer than the foils. Not as good as original Nespresso pods mind you, but better than my old K-cups.With the Next machine you have to cut slits between the holes, it said on the product listing as well as on the box. I did it in a way that it ripped one of the lids to shreds for the first attempt. Scratch one lid, RIP. On my 2nd lid, I flipped it over so the holes are up, then cut through that ridge sticking up at you between the holes. Sliced it far enough down so that there is a visible separation. Did that all the way around, and you end up with what you see in my posted picture. I used a box cutter knife. If they made silicone caps for these to keep the air out, I’d buy a ton of these and go to town refilling them in advance. It’s hard to see how I can advance fill but a couple of them being I’m storing them in a platform with a pod drawer.

Did not work.
If I could give these no stars, I would. The product is nicely made but they simply didn’t not work with my Nespresso machine. I read the reviews before buying them and I took A chance in hopes they would work for me. Just my luck, they did not. The holes in the product are not nearly big enough to have the spikes in the machine go through them. I tried To cut them (multiple different ways) like some other reviewers did and it still didn't work. And now my machine won’t even work, so needless to say I’m not happy. If they work for you, I’m jealous.

Wow love saving money.
This product is a game changer and easy to use. My coffee machine has not had any problems with these lids. I just get a good foam and tasty cup of coffee. So happy I gave these a try.

Really Works
I wasn't sold on these but also couldn't keep buying the pods $$$. As a stopgap this is perfect. It does allow you to reuse a pod with your own coffee and it produces a good cup. Not as perfect as a new pod but it creates a coffee that you can have for cheaper on the days you dont need that extraness the pods give us. I do suggest using finer (espresso) grind option in my experience with these as my regular ground coffee was a weaker when using theses lids. I have had no grinds in my cup but I did notice I had to wipe a few more on the inside pod holder when cleaning the machine.

Takes tinkering to work well
This does make a decent cup of coffee, but the process to fill the pods is messy and time consuming. It would be great if the product had a holder for the pod (got around this with a 1-1/2 pvc coupler I had hanging around), a funnel, and sized tamp to limit spillage.I weighed and dissected some factory pods and matched the grind on my oxo 8717000 burr grinder (seems right around 6 is pretty close). Double espresso holds 10.5 grams and coffee size holds 13 grams.I wanted to use the double espresso pods since I guessed they are less likely to be over extracted. I also figured the heavier silicone lid would keep the total pod weight closer to what the machine was designed for and therefore less likely to damage it.The double espresso made my machine vibrate like crazy! I tried it again with a different lid and pod base and it was actually so bad I won’t do it again for fear of breaking the machine!!I am having much better results with the coffee sized pod. It sounds like a factory pod with minimal vibration. We had an espresso machine for years that died. My wife was tired of the hassle and bought a nespresso. I’m the only one refilling pods because I am a hippie and a cheapskate. I can say a regular espresso machine is definitely easier than refilling pods.
