Meatless Farm Plant Based Mince, 400g

We no longer use real meat when making spag bol from scratch. I have tried various brands of ersatz meat but found that this one is the tastiest. The only down side to this frozen version of the product is that it is not free flow. It comes as a big frozen lump which you have to hit with a rolling pin to break up if you are not using the whole pack. Another tip, don't use the jars of ready made sauce ( Ragu or Dolmio) as they are full of added sugar. Get a tin of chopped plum tomatoes with added herbs and also add some tomato puree.

A clever meat-free mince. Cooks nicely, gets a brown crisp to the surface, and once seasoned it tastes great with a lovely, slightly chewy texture. A couple of e-numbers at present, maybe they can improve on that, but a very good product.

I recently bought this having tried it before and found it very good.However I will not be buying it again.This product was good,actually looked like mince,was mouldable too so was easy to make into meatballs or patties,not any more.The “bag” as it now is contains orange coloured bits,not appetising to look at and certainly can no longer be used to make anything other than a dish of say chilli or curry or cottage pie.I will be buying else where in future.Totally disappointing.😪😪

In my opinion this is probably one I won't be buying again. It had a playdoh like texture. Did not separate well in the pan and quite flavourless
