Great overall low profile arm.
I'm using this with an Earthworks Icon Pro mic (about 2.5lbs) and the only issue I have with it is the same as the other review where it talks about weight support. You have to tighten it quite a bit to support over 2lbs. It's a bit heavier than a Rode Podmic which I'm thinking about getting another one these for use with my other rig. The middle not having a swivel isn't a big deal for me with my setup but I could see where it would be nice to have if you have a bit less distance from the mount to where you want the mic than I have. That being said, it's overall great for a low profile arm. Make sure you have an even mount surface as like most booms that support that much weight fairly far out, it will drift some. Since most swivels do that I'm not counting it against the design and it can be dealt with in various ways. The desk mount itself is sturdy though you may need to tighten it a couple times during the first week of use as the foam settles. It is a little pricier than I would have liked but the build quality is nice and the adjustments are easy. The track for the cable management clips in tight and should fit most standard size XLR cables. Very happy with it... :)

Struggles to Hold Weight but Manages to
This mic is well built and has good cable management. It was also easy to setup and I love that the tension wrench is stored nicely on the arm base. The only issue I have with it is the weight it can hold. I have a RE-20 with a Heil PRSM-B shock mount. These two along with a pop filter ends up weighing around 2.6 lbs. I bought this arm and paid the higher price because it says it can hold up to 3.9 lbs. But it looks like the claims were exaggerated or only true for specific positions. I have the arm almost fully extended and the only way I was able to keep it from slowly sliding down was by tightening the joints super hard, to the point I slightly stripped the screw on the base. I'm also kind of disappointed that the middle part doesn't have an extra rotary joint like the arm end does despite the similar looks, but that's a fairly minor issue.

Exactly what I needed
The mic arm works great in low profile mode and folds completely out of the way when not in use.

Looks great, sturdy, versatile
I've been thinking about getting a mic boom for a while. However, most of them look like the old desk light that I used in college. Then I saw this AVerMedia mic ...and had to get one.It looks great (in fact, it won a design award). And it wasn't hard to put together. You basically fasten it to a desk or table with a clamp, and insert the base arm of the boom into the top of the clamp and tighten it. Then you adjust the joints to the way you want them, tighten them with the hex wrench (included), and attach your mic.In my case -- maybe it was the angle of my desk -- I couldn't get enough leverage to tighten the first joint, the one at the base. It seemed tight, but not tight enough. So when I put the mic on the boom, the mic was so heavy that it made the boom lean forward at the base. Maybe if I could access the back of my desk from all angles to get more leverage, it wouldn't be so hard to tighten it.However, I have a standing desk -- a desk-on-a-desk, basically. So I just leaned the base of the boom arm against the the top of the desk and then adjusted and tightened the other joints. The mic is now at a perfect angle. The pros:Sleek designRobust lookingGood range of motionMic attaches easily to boom armThe cons:Tightening with the hex wrench can be difficult - though putting the joint adjusters inside the tubes with hex screws is what makes the AVerMedia look so coolChallenging to get the base adjustment right so that the boom doesn't pitch forward fro the weight (but maybe it was just me)This was a huge upgrade to my work space!
