Great coffee
A great coffee. Yes, dark roast, but it does not have the acidic bitterness normally associated with dark roast. A great smooth cup of coffee that satisfies. I'll be getting more!

Smooth
This coffee is probably one of best that I have had in a while. It is very smooth with a bold taste.

Good flavor, but bag is half empty
The flavor of this coffee is good, not too acidic (which I like) but still rich. It can be hard to find coffee pre-ground coarsely for the French press so it's nice that it has that option. The only thing is that the bag is only about half full of coffee so it hasn't lasted me very long.

Great coffee! But not always.
We've been getting Gevalia Special Reserve Costa Rica Single Coffee for the past two years. We LOVE the taste. BUT, once in a while we'll get a bag that tastes nothing like the normal ones. It's happened a couple of times. It doesn't taste the same nor even smells the same. When this happens the coffee tastes very bad. Doesn't even compare to the usual product. Very disappointing.

ACTUALLY HAS CAFFEINE IN IT. Brews well in NINJA coffee maker.
This Gevalia Costa Rica Coarse Ground Coffee "ACTUALLY HAS CAFFEINE IN IT". Because it is COURSE GROUND, this coffee brews well in NINJA coffee maker with the re-usable plastic screen or the French Press. With this Course Ground Coffee ... I find very Little or no coffee grounds in the bottom of my cup. The screen in my coffee maker catches and keeps most of the grounds in the filter basket. Disposable paper filters may NOT be required if using a COURSE GROUND coffee {LIKE THIS ONE} in a coffee maker with some sort of plastic or stainless steel mesh screen. I thoroughly enjoy this flavorful and stimulating coffee. As with any coffee... Brew Extra HOT if you prefer more caffeine and a more bitter coffee. OR, brew warm to hot for a smoother coffee with somewhat less caffeine. Some Coffee makers allow adjustment of water temperature... . The Simple and inexpensive French Press coffee makers allow for unlimited adjustment of temperature... I have NOT attempted to Cold Brew this, or any other, coffee. I would expect this to brew well in traditional percolator style coffee pots. I find this one to be somewhat similar to the Canadian Favourite, "Tim Horton's". Thank YOU for offering this enjoyable coffee at a fair price. Doc Martin
