The full casing used as is caused my projector to flicker badly and seems to overheat. I simply manually removed the lamp bulb from the casing and replaced the old lamp bulb in the original casing and it works great. Not sure if the problem is the new casing or the lens in front of the lamp.Update - Support was great to work with and is sending another casing to test.

Ordered this awhile ago when I started getting warnings and then my lamp finally did die. Replacement was easy but, when I reconnected everything and powered on it ran for about 30 seconds before the colors went funny, made some noises, smelled like something burned, and then turned off.I guess this is common (at least with optoma projectors) the internal glass is slightly different and can cause this. Just need to change the class from your old lamp and put it in the new one. Did this and it turned on again no problem whatsoever.

This bulb worked for a little while but soon started flickering. Abitan customer service was very responsive and helpful. Ultimately, I was not able to get a bulb that worked, but Abitan refunded the cost. Don't be afraid to give them a chance. Abitan will make it right if you don't get a bulb the works.

Induced by what seemed like a good price, I bought this defective, cheap lamp. This has been the case for me, my family, and friends over the years, with all bulbs (different brands and projectors) purchased on Amazon. This lamp flashes and flickers. Bought an OEM bulb directly from a well-known reputable projector bulb supply house (cost twice as much) that worked perfectly. I regret, once again (and you may also) buying any projector bulb on Amazon.

We replaced the old lamp with this one from Amazon on 9/12/23; When we powered up the projector with the new lamp in place, we got a constant flickering on the screen, then the projector powered down and shut off on it's own. We checked the problem on Youtube and found a solution. Apparently the LENS on the new one is not compatible. We had to take the lens in front of the old bulb and replace the lens on the new lamp with the old lens. Once we did that and reinstalled the lamp, the projector worked fine...at least so far. This is frustrating when you purchase the lamp to replace one that is supposed to be compatible. .If this happens to you be prepared to change the lens if you purchase this lamp.

Looks like the same unit as the original they say it replaces, but surface-mounted screws vs. countersunk in critical areas kept it from slipping in for the perfect fit of the original lamp; I'm pretty sure this caused cooling problems that led to it overheating and shutting down in seconds.
