An updated edition of the classic, definitive guide to malt whiskies, written by the late Michael Jackson and updated by whisky experts Dominic Roskrow and Gavin D. Smith. The fully revised 8th edition of the Malt Whisky Companion will teach you everything you want to know about your favorite tipple. How is whisky made? Which whiskies are light and flowery, or rich and treacly? How different is a single malt from a distillery in the Highlands of Scotland to one from Taiwan or Argentina? Find whisky tasting notes on over 700 malts arranged from A-Z, including vintages and the very latest releases and featuring nearly 200 distilleries from Scotland and around the world. This comprehensive guide defines the characteristics of each whisky and gives it an overall score, making it the perfect companion for keen whisky drinkers and new converts to the wonderful world of the single malt. Review: What's not to like - Have several older editions of this. The reviews and photography are and have always been fair/excellent and spot on with dozens of personal comparisons side by side book and bottle in hand. Review: A must have for every single malt enthusiast! - I’m very glad to have purchased the latest edition of this book. It is more expanded than ever and offers so much information about so many single malt whiskeys out there.

Content rating excellent, workmanship is bad (I mean the print quality of the book itself)
Firstly, I want to make it clear that my feedback pertains to the book's physical attributes rather than its content, which I found to be well-crafted. The issue lies in the fact that the edition I received was printed in Latvia, and unfortunately, it doesn't match the quality of a previous European-printed edition I own. The design of the book and the quality of the paper fall short of expectations, resulting in a less-than-pleasant reading experience. While I understand that printing locations can vary, the noticeable difference in quality led me to lower my overall rating for the book. I believe the physical aspects of a book contribute significantly to the overall reading enjoyment, and I hope this feedback can be taken into consideration for future editions. My intention is not to criticize but to provide constructive feedback on the physical production aspects, as the content itself is commendable.
