Microscope Slides, Ground Edges, Plain, 90 Corners, 3x1, Karter Scientific 206A2 (Pack of 72)

I ordered two boxes of plain glass microscope slides, one from Karter (206A2) and one from Seoh (LabZap B145). Both qualified for free shipping. Both arrived in one larger box along with other items that I had ordered trough Amazon. Both contained exactly 72 slides that were 25.4 mm x 75.3 mm (exactly 1” x slightly less than 3”), and 1.04 to 1.08 mm thick (the Seoh slides were slightly thinner). None were broken or cracked, and all appeared to be of high quality, with flat surfaces and straight, ground edges that were not sharp. The Karter slides were not clean and sometimes stuck together; they needed to be rinsed with water before use. The Seoh slides were interleaved with paper and were cleaner; they could probably be used as-is for some applications, but they also benefitted from a water rinse. The Karter slides (presumably made in Louisiana) cost $5.99; the Seoh slides (made in China) cost $4.99. Overall, the Seoh slides had a slight edge in quality and a better price, but both cost a tenth of what scientific suppliers charge, so both were excellent values.

The slides were slightly dirty and spotted, as other reviews had also mentioned, but not too much of an issue. I just wiped them clean and used them without much of a problem. The edges are sharp, but not enough to cut you. There is no paper in between the slides, so scratching could potentially happen, but I had no such issue. Overall, I'm content with the product. It fulfilled its need for a kid's science project.

These are my go-to microscope slides. They always arrive clean, in great condition, and are very easy to use. I like that they do not come with strips of paper in between each slide

Even though the package was air sealed all of the slides are contaminated and have a film on them making them unuseful.

All slides are contaminated despite came in a vacuum sealed packaging. Not sure how they get past QC. If you don't feel like clean each and every slide, then this is not for you.

Every single slide was incredibly dirty and foggy

Nice slides for the price I will wipe them down once with alcohol before using to sport print with because they are a little linty but other than that not bad.

When I opened up the box the slides were all mouldy looking Like they were damp when put into box. Not impressed to have to clean every slide

This box of glass microscope slides arrived promptly after ordering in perfect condition. They seem to be streak free and the box will serve as a storage tray.

Dirty slides, can't do anything with them, very upsetting!
