I found this product to be an excellent replacement for the original one. By all appearances, including size, shape, color, materials it's made from, the attachment, and seating stability; they all match the original seat that came with the toilet. Can't ask for more than that. Definitely it is made of plastic which some people may not like, and it is expensive, thus I didn't give it 5 stars. But if you want an original replacement, you won't be disappointed.

This seat feels cheap and thin compared to the original. Sadly it costs 5x that of its white brethren because the color has been discontinued.

I bought this replacement seat for a Kohler K 3397EB lowboy toilet. The original seat for this toilet is very high quality but the white plastic was beginning to yellow somewhat and the smooth surface of the seat was becoming somewhat rough. I thought it would be an easy matter to replace the seat and was advised by the Kohler representative to purchase this particular replacement seat.The seat that arrived was of the "quick release" type. The method of screwing the seat to the toilet involves picking either a "long" or a "short" screw position but neither position was precise enough to give a good fit. The seat either hung over the left side or hung over the right side slightly and there was no ability to make fine adjustments.The quality of the seat itself was also less than the original seat. The heft of the plastic was less and the seat lid was significantly lighter so that when one would sit on the lid, perhaps to put on one's socks or shoes, the lid would creak and bend and not feel supported. Also the side rails of the seat were significantly more narrow than the original seat thus putting more pressure on one's legs and buttocks and was quite uncomfortable because of this.I was quite disappointed in this product and have returned it. I suspect I will never be able to replace the original seat since this is an old and now discontinued toilet but certainly has the elongated bowl that matches dimensions of current bowls. In my situation the quality was just not there compared to the original item.

There are two problems with this toilet seat. First, after one week of use the toilet lid began to squeak very loudly as it was raised or lowered. Oiling the joint between the small metal rod and the plastic lid where the rotation occurs did not fix the problem. I used a silicone lubricant first and then a regular oil next, and neither one worked. The second problem is a design flaw and results in a very serious safety problem. With the new quick release feature on the hinges, the caps that cover the hinges are too high. That results in the back of the lid hitting the hinge covers before the lid can be pushed back far enough for it to rest against the toilet tank. The problem is so bad that the seat then just barely makes it past the vertical position. As a result, if the lid and seat are quickly raised and not carefully pushed to their farthest position, the seat can come crashing back down onto the toilet rim, smashing anything in its path, such as a four-year old's penis who quickly raises the lid and seat and is not careful to ensure it will stay there. After having the toilet seat just one week, our four year old had the seat crash down twice. Fortunately it missed his penis, but only by an inch or so. I shudder to imagine the pain and injury it would have caused if it did not miss his penis. Kohler should correct this problem before any serious injuries and lawsuits occur. They (and Amazon) should stop selling this particular model (and any like it) immediately until it is corrected. I have contacted Kohler directly about these problems and they were pleasant to deal with. They said they would send me directly a new toilet seat of the same model, but without the quick release hinges. I didn't know that was still available. They assured me that the lid could be pushed back to where it rests against the toilet tank. The new seat should arrive in a few days. I hope it is different than the Kohler Lustra seat I received from Amazon.

I have a fairly old Kohler toilet and the original toilet seat, which was a custom rose color, was hard to find. Amazon to the rescue. This one is perfect, and now my old toilet looks new again. So happy!

Replacement

What did I use this product for? Why would I buy a toilet seat - if not to put on a toilet! The original seat is discontinued so I had no choice except to buy this one, unless I wanted one that was a different colour from the toilet and a different shape. Kohler should be ashamed!

A quality Kohler product. Easy to install and it looks good.

It works, it is a nice color, but it is not as sturdy as the most expensive ones, Still, I recommend it
