Are the vacuum bags reusable?

I tried re-sealing used Bonsenkitchen bags from Bonsenkitchen rolls but the Bonsenkitchen machine don't vacuum the bags. It won't vacuum new ZIP LOCK bags either

I'm pretty sure that the "Golden insulating tape" is actually the clear 'tape' that covers the control panel, to keep it from getting scratched during the packing process.

Can i get a pdf of the user manual?

I would send the machine back I couldn't ever get my machine back . Mine was a piece of junk I finally sent it back which was an easy process

After sucking I'm still finding some air in the bags, enough that you can move the food around. Is this normal?

No you should have no air left. Try moving the food around while the vacuum is on. As long as it getting air it will run.
