Outstanding contribution towards Traditional Astrology
Many congratulations to Demetra George on the publication on Volume 2 of her magnum opus on Traditional Astrology - much delayed and keenly anticipated but worth the wait. This second volume concentrates on three topics - (a) the astrological houses & house rulership; (b) chart rulers in their many guises; & (c) length of life (the shortest section, only two chapters). On a personal note I am particularly pleased to see the inclusion of a simplified scheme from J B Morin for interpreting the outcome of house topics.Noteworthy features are: first, a detailed and scholarly comparison of topics for each house, spanning Hellenistic to modern authors and second, the inclusion of what I shall call her "teaching material". This latter presented at the end of most of the chapters and guides the reader through applying the ideas mentioned in the chapter to (i) the two exemplar charts (Jacqueline Onassis & Pablo Picasso) & (ii) your own chart (or any other chart, for that matter). These teaching sections (in both volumes) contribute significantly to the length of the books but are a real attempt to teach the serious student how to apply these principles. I know of few other astrology books that make such a serious and sustained effort to enable the student to master the work; perhaps because it is such a tricky subject to get one's mind around? The problem with reading astrology books - as in attending lectures - is that they don't really teach you much unless you take the ideas and apply them to a variety of charts. It is the time spent in this application that really counts if you are studying the subject. As such, these volumes are a major step towards providing a traditional astrology education. The volume concludes with a detailed glossary and an index to both volumes.

Great introduction to ancient astrology.
I bought both volumes one and two. The size of the book is very intimidating at first, but with Demetra's years of teaching experience, you just fly through the book. Everything is clearly explained, and you follow the teachings by applying them to your own natal chart. The only thing that was annoying, was having to flip through trying to find the example charts.

Go too book for hellenistic astology enthusiast
This book goes through all the houses in detailand gives you insight into placements of planets and how they effect certain spears of your life. This is not the ABC system that you find in modern astology. In this book you learn the angularity of the house, the joys ect matter a great deal. You can also learn other concepts like "master of the nativity "This is a follow on from volum 1 and it is vary important that you do the exercises if you want to get the best out of this book.

Amazing Content
The *only* issue I have with this book is an aesthetic one. The spine illustration doesn’t line up with that of Volume I, and there is no subtitle like there is on the cover of Volume I.Volume One: Assessing Planetary ConditionVolume Two: ?Other than that I have no complaints!
