Q: did anyone reviewing have to pay for these?

I have ignored unverified purchase reviews for many years. Another tip: yes, I read a couple 5-star reviews on products, but then immediately move the the 1-star reviews for the real low-down, while also looking at the total number of reviews and percent negative—which can be very telling (if a product has a good number of reviews and up to about 5% negative, that’s probably well within a manufacturing tolerance that I don’t worry too much about, especially since just about everything here can be returned within 30 days if you get a dud—though I still read them). One last tip: NEVER buy anything through Amazon that has zero, or just a couple of reviews—on those you may even notice all the reviews are glowing & 5-star, and somehow, mysteriously, may even have dates that are prior to the listing going live—wonder how that happens!?!

Q: Would these fit a 6 year child ?

They may be a bit too big for a 6 years old. Also, they put quite a bit of pressure on the sides of your head. Totally fine for an adult, but my 12 year old complains that they are not comfortable for her.

Q: Noise cancelling headphones? Docthey require batteries?

These aren't noise cancelling headphones. They're ear protection.

Q: Looking to use at indoor Gun range? Yes or No ?

I use mine with my lawn equipment, typically 70dB to 90dB. Guns typically range from 120dB to 150dB. I'm comfortable with it using the lawn equipment, but not sure if I would be in a gun range. However, it may work for you if you also use an in ear plug as well as these ear muffs.
