Nice Looking Sport Watch
The Armitron Adventure Men's AD/1004BKTIBK Watch is a nice looking sport watch. The hour markings are numeric and printed in large white numbers on a black background making them extremely readable. Even the three sundials (day, month date, 24-hour) are very easy to see and read. This is not always the case with watches containing three small subdials.Individual push buttons control the day and day of the month setting. This makes more sense than the less convenient crown pullout. More often than not I mess up the time when I try to change the date. (Was that one pull or two on the crown to set the date?) Keep in mind that the 24 hour dial is linked to the main hour dial. In other words, this is a 24-hour readout of the current local time. It is not a multi-time zone or city subdial. On the not so great side are the tiny instruction booklet. Normally this isn't a problem as Armitron has easier to read and free to download PDF instructions on their web site. However, in the instructions on the Armitron web site for this model are not for the Armitron Adventure Men's AD/1004BKTIBK Multi-Function Watch. They are for the VX9NE model and have little relevance to this particular watch. That's sloppy to say the least on Armitron's part. The watch was running in box. I know that watches have batteries can last for years. However, I prefer to start the battery draining when I receive the watch--not when the watch was manufactured and boxed.Other than these concerns I find that I like this watch very much. I suspect that the Armitron Adventure Men's AD/1004BKTIBK Multi-Function Watch will often be on my wrist.

... dial withe big numbers and wide hands makes for easy reading. Decent lume
What I like- Large dial withe big numbers and wide hands makes for easy reading. Decent lume. NATO strap is easy to change without tools, and can be machine washed. What I dislike- The compass markers on the bezel are useless. An analog watch can be used as a makeshift compass, but for the markings to work, the bezel would have to rotate. Of the three subdials, only the day is of much use. The 24 hour dial is often blocked by the hands. Better to have the 24 hour markings hust inside the 12 hour markings as most watches do. The date dial is unreadable. For the price I paid, perhaps a bit more, a much better product could have been purchased. But it will suffice as a daily wear watch for work, saving wear and tear on my nicer pieces.

Good but not great.
The Armitron Adventure watch is okay, but some of the features could function better. Here are a few things I like and dislike about the watch. Hopefully this will help you in your purchase making decision.Pros:Good sturdy packaging.Simple instructions to set watchVery easy to set the time/AM/PMStealthy / tactical lookRobust caseRobust build qualityDecent size and weightAccurate time keepingCons:The second hand does not line up properly with the second markers on the dial face. Annoying, but doesn't interfere with accuracy. The DATE and DAY of Week function is completely pointless. Any press of either the top or bottom buttons will change the DATE or DOW. After wearing for a few days, this has happened at least 2 or 3 times. So I basically quit using or caring about the DATE or DOW function. I just use the watch to keep time.Strap will stay wet for a short time if you get it wet when washing hands.Crown does not screw downI hope this review helps you in making a decision.By the way, I am a 6'1" male, average wrist size, 200 lbs. and the watch size is perfect. Very masculine and tough without being too large or bulky.

Stylish, but heavy and clunky watch
I like chronograph watches. Not only are they stylish, like this one, but using it as a stopwatch/timer is quite handy for the right people that need those features. This watch is attractive. The chronograph and second hands are orange, and pop out against a black background. The date window is very small and often hard to see depending on where the minute/hour hands are. It gets rather frustrating to try to make out the text, and often I end up using my phone when I forget the date. The nylon strap is OK, but the watch feels top heavy. The face is so thick and heavy that it feels cumbersome on my wrist. It almost feels like the band doesn't match the watch, because it slides around and feel like a weight is on my arm. I just don't like wearing it for this reason.Overall it's an OK watch. It is a bit overpriced, though you never end up having to pay list price on these if you do your research.

failed design
this is so disappointing - Armitron finally nearly got everything right with a watch that whips Timex out of the park, but drops the ball on a single function! i cannot believe that someone at the corporate level thought this watch was a good idea! with a simple, single modification, this watch could have been the *killer* cheap quartz 'adventure' watch...what it got right:1. readability - nice hands, large face2. easy controls - big buttons, quick response, good ergonomics3. nice band - nato straps are all the rage - the kiddietwinks love 'em and even this old person uses them!4. good lume on the handsthe FAIL:what the blue blazes was someone thinking who decided to put a tachymeter dial on this watch? not only that, but the klutz klown in the corporate office thought it would be OK to make the bezel *stationary*??? what the h-e-double-hockey-sticks is going on at Armitron?sorry folks, you're still at the Timex level with quality watches but bad ergonomics
