Natural & Curly Hair For Dummies

I recently decided to stop using perms and let my natural hair grow out. I assumed transitioning would be simple and easy to do. Was I wrong! Now, after reading the book, I have a better understanding of how to properly transition from permed to natural hair, and how to nurture and care for my hair. What’s also great about this book is that I am finally able to understand the meaning of terms that I’ve heard used, such as hair porosity. It also helped with common questions like what types of oils are best to use on your hair, and why. This is a phenomenal book that I highly recommend purchasing.

I got a couple of these as gifts for friends who are natural but need a little guidance on their hair journey. Both have mentioned there love for the book and that it lays out your wash routine, tools, hair type etc.

While this talks about different textures, it also excludes more challenging ones that intend to stay natural.

As a dad to a daughter with naturally curly hair, it is important for me to understand not only how to do her hair, but to help her maintain healthy hair as well! Also help me understand my partner’s hair too. This book is a natural hair bible, and stays on our bathroom sink for quick, daily references. Get this book. I followed tips from the book and could finally comb my granddaughters’ hair. Each step taught me how to condition and maintain her natural hair. I bought three books, gave one to each of my sons and their wives. Hallelujah!
