Decent Dock
It's a dock for your Xoom, it looks cool enough and has built in speakers that are an upgrade over the Xoom's built in speakers.Setup: Very easy, just un-box it, plug it in and you're ready to go.Pros: It feels sturdy and holds the Xoom well, you can easily type on the Xoom and the viewing angle is very natural. It has an hdmi output, power connector on the back, on the front there's a cut out so you can still speak and the Xoom's mic will pick up on your voice.Cons: No USB out, no included HDMI cable. It's not a bad dock if you want to put it next to a TV and use the HDMI feature, or maybe on a coffee table or in the kitchen to use the built in speakers to play out some Pandora or other music.

A pretty good speaker dock for my Xoom
I wanted to be able to hear the things I watch and listen to on my Xoom without headphones. The speaker built in leaves little to be desired, always hard to hear unless in a completely silent environment. The speaker dock arrived today and I just got done trying it out. It works very well, even with the fan in my room running on high I could still hear the dialogue from my movie. I like the fact that it came with the faceplate you can use if you have the case installed on the Xoom, good thinking as the original dock doesn't allow for this.I saw a lot of comments where people said they had difficulty lining up the ports on the dock to the Xoom. I didn't find any difficulty in this and had it mated up on the first try. Sound quality is great, not too much or too little bass.Overall this speaker dock is great. The sound quality is what I expected for something used by a tablet. If I was looking for THX or surround quality, I'd be looking for a home entertainment system for my large TV.I think that this is a good investment and anyone looking to buy a speaker dock for their Xoom should check this out definitely.

Excellent value
At the current pricing, this is a must-have item for those with compatible Xoom units. It will work with the original Xoom, but not with the Family Edition. I don't know about any other models. If Motorola had included USB ports - and at the original price, they certainly could have afforded to - this would have been a fantastic unit. As it stands, it is good and the current price makes it an excellent value. There are two back plates included, one to accommodate the Xoom without a case, the other with. My case is too thick, so I just take it off when using the dock. Setup is simple. Install the right back plate, plug in the charger and mount the unit. The last point is more difficult than it needs to be. There's an embossed dot7 on the dock that is supposed to be aligned with a diode on the Xoom. Takes more wiggling than it should to seat the Xoom firmly. Sound quality is pretty good. Not sufficient for an audiophile, but more than adequate for me. Audio is clear, no significant distortion. There's even a bit of bass. I suppose I could improve things if I used an equalizer app, but I am not that particular. Volume is adequate for a normally quiet room. There is a mini-HDMI port which is of no interest to me. The unit is too bulky and heavy in my opinion to travel with. I keep it on my work table for playing music and videos, so I don't tax my computer or take up screen real estate. For those purposes, it is excellent. Too bad it has no USB ports.Jerry

Works well, charges in case with adapter
This dock works great so far, I chiefly bought it as a charging dock but decided to go with this one based on the discounted price here and maybe I'll use the USB/HDMI someday. I haven't used it other than for charging purposes yet. I especially like that it comes with an adapter that makes it possible to charge the xoom without taking the rubber skin off. Nice non-skid bottom makes sure the dock doesn't move around when you are inserting the xoom.I wanted to post this review early because of all the users having trouble getting the xoom to dock:I would suggest you be very careful when first getting used to docking your xoom in this thing. The directions don't really specify how to physically put the xoom in and that may be why some people have trouble. It's not like an ipod dock. You don't push the xoom straight onto the dock following the angle of the backrest. You need to tilt the xoom forward a bit and then it slides into the dock very easily. Same to remove, just tilt it forward (toward you) a bit and it will slip right off. I discovered this trick while trying to push it on and noticing that it didn't seem to want to fit pushing straight down. Now it works very well and the xoom takes up less table space when charging.

Nice dock. Love the speakers.
Pros:- I find the speakers to be plenty loud enough for my purpose.- Flat rubber bottom is great for ensuring that the dock doesn't slide on you. Much better than the rubber feet a lot of products use.- Comes with removable face-plates that allow docking with or without protective case.Cons:- No USB port. The dock slides into the USB port on the Xoom and the port has the pins in it, so I can only assume they are using that to get the sound from the tablet to the dock. Still disappointing.- Non-standard power cord. It's not even the same non-standard power cord that fits the Xoom, so don't buy this thinking you are getting a backup power cord for your tablet, it will have to be docked to charge if you've lost your original cord.Neutral Comments:- People have complained about getting the tablet docked. I, personally, have not had any issues with this. It has a gray dot in the front that lines up with the tablet. You gently move it around a little until you feel it start to slide into place. If you aren't good with this kind of thing, you may be frustrated by this. All in all, I'm very happy with this. The price has dropped so much on these since they first came out, that it is now a really good deal. Very glad I bought it.

Competent for what it is intended but not spectacular
Some people seem to be expecting far too much from this. You don't get superb sound from tiny speakers. The laws of physics are very much against that. What it does, it does competently. I use it as a charging station, avoiding the fragility of the standard DC plug, and it has also once been mounted in the car with double sided tape so the XOOM could be used as an emergency satnav, using OSMand+. It normally sits beside a PC so that I can just drop the XOOM in and transfer files.

Delighted I can still get these!
As this is for an older tablet it's quite difficult to source now. The product arrived surprisingly quickly and is now in constant service, filling the kitchen with music. The volume and sound quality is perfect for the room. The only down-sire is more of a app and tablet flaw rather than a problem with the dock: many of the apps that play music only operate in portrait mode, but for this product to work the tablet has to be placed in landscape orientation because the connectors are on the longer edge of the tablet. The family loves the dock and it's good to find it for a reasonable price (including shipping!) from such an efficient seller.

Great value at £32
I purchased this for my bedside locker, so it's primary uses are for internet radio via the Xoom and occasionally for watching something on Netflix. The sound will not blow you away, but it performs well for my requirements. This is probably a 3 star product at it's full retail price, but at the current price of £32, it's a 4 star rating.

Motorola Xoom Docking Station
The Motorola Xoom Docking Station arrived in good time, unfortunately the contents of the box were not as listed. The 30w wall charger was missing and if I can't find a replacement the station is unusable and therefore useless.JE Ford
