Hi!! I love this product - its super cute and I got the matching napkin holder. Its sturdy and suits our kitchen. I gave it only 4 stars though as it came with a scratch on the base (a white scratch) but I can't be bothered to send it back. I just used a black sharpie to cover it.

I am pleased that unlike some reviews, there was no wobbly rod issue for mine. Truth be told it is rather overpriced for such a simple item, but it's sturdy and adorable. I use the massive Amazon Presto brand rolls ('Merica sized) and it fits very well. See comparison with a regular UK supermarket brand roll, it's quite the difference. Overall quite pleased with the purchase but I can see how the supposed point of one-handed use wouldn't be applicable if you use "non jumbo" rolls as the buddy figure wouldn't be able to hold the roll still while you tear.

It's a well made, sturdy product that can handle being bumped and banged without any signs of wear to it yet. A cute whimsical touch to my creative space, I have become quite attached to this holder. I enjoy it so much more than the basic paper towel holder that it replaced and it still continues to put a smile on my face.

This holder is so cute! I don't know that it's worth $20 but I like the uniqueness, so had to buy it. It's sturdy and does the job. I've always held the top of a paper towel holder when tearing off a sheet but I did try doing it single-handedly. It will tear off without it tipping, but if you don't do it at the right angle/spot, then it will tear only the top half of the sheet, because of the way his arm catches on it. I'm not sure if it will hold extra large rolls. I don't recall what kind of paper towel I bought, so I measured the thickness for reference. It's 2 inches and fits right up to the end of the guy. Please also note, that it will show dust (and paper towel dust) easily because it's black. It looks cute and it's sturdy but I'm not sure why it's so tall. So I'll never find a paper towel that fits.
