This is a very qualitative dog food!
This dog food brands stands out above the others! After a great deal of research on the Internet, spending literally days reading about various dog foods and going to a site that actually compares them nutritionally, I settled on this brand because of its rating from independent study and it’s affordability. I raised my dog on this, and discovered after he was grown, that many of the grain free dog foods were missing a critical nutritional element! Reports claimed that the missing element was TAURINE and the LACK of it responsible for heart health problems in certain breeds fed exclusively grain free diets! Wellness brand was one of the very few brands which actually had this element in it BEFORE these negative reports came out! Boy did I feel good for choosing Wellness brand! For anyone wanting to find a qualitative dog food that is superior to many of the top brands that people see on the grocery market shelves, check this one out! My dog grew and developed beautifully using this food. Unlike other brands I have used in the past (which were not as qualitative many years ago), my dog’s coat and skin is perfection and never dry and never flaky. This dog food is high in protein and low in fiber, which means your dog will not be going to the bathroom constantly to get rid of all the fiber filler which is often in cheap dog food. This food also have additional ingredients which are very good for the dog including probiotics. From my experience, I highly recommend this find out food!

SAVED MY PUPPY!
We adopted a puppy from the shelter at 6 months old. He came to us needing a ton of love and attention. He had terrible diarrhea with no end in sight. The poor thing was getting more sick. I switched him over to Wellness, and within days his gut was completely healed! His bowels became normal, his health went up right away, and his coat got more beautiful! He's so much calmer as well. Amazon has this food for a fraction of the price that my local market sells it, so we'll be doing a subscription. I usually can't stand the smell of dog food, but I have no issues at all opening this bag. Happy all around!

Dog with allergies
My baby lab just turned 1 and I was looking to switch him from his puppy food. Unfortunately he also just got over a really bad staph infection due to allergies. I did a lot of research on different foods. My 10 yr old girl lab has had allergy issues her whole life and gets weekly allergy shots to help keep her flare ups under control. My baby is still growing back hair and having dry skin issues. His infection is gone, but it rob him of his natural oils. There are a few things I considered when choosing this food. One, it is a fish based food. That is one of the best protein sources for dogs with allergies. Two, it has a good amount of omega 3 and 6 in it. That is good for a variety of reasons, but specifically for my guys skin issues. Third, it has glucosamine and chondroitin in it. A good thing to consider if you have a large breed dog. This is my first bag. Transitioning from puppy food went fine. No upset tummies or diarrhea. That makes me happy.

Overpriced Garbage
I don't know about you, but to me there is no better way to tell how good something is than to put it up against a competitor head to head. I had been feeding Wellness to my 9 month old German Shepherd for about 3 months since I adopted her. Within that time she gradually began to scratch herself more and more until it got to the point that she was scratching everywhere on her body almost constantly. In addition, her poop was massive while she was eating this food. When I say massive, I mean she is a 55 pound dog and she was probably pooping twice the volume of a human daily.I took her to a groomer to get her nails trimmed and give her a bath one day, and he noticed her itching and suggested trying a different food because he had seen this type of thing with other dogs when they were allergic to their food. At first I was skeptical, but I ended up buying a brand named Taste of the Wild - Pacific Stream based off of a recommendation from a friend who had solve their dog's allergy with this food. A few days into the new food there was a noticeable difference as she was scratching significantly less. Then I went outside to pick up her poop out of the yard, and noticed that it was a fraction of the size and volume that it was previously! It's pretty clear cut. The new food was obviously more nutritious and therefore more of it can be absorbed with less waste. The new food was also 20% cheaper than Wellness and she seems to love eating it.This isn't meant to be a plug for another brand, but if you want your dog to be healthier and receive more nutrition from their food, I would skip this overpriced junk food and look at alternatives.

Hurt my dog
I thought this would be a good alternative to my dogs prescription allergy food - although she liked the taste and pooped a lot we noticed her arthritis hit ( she would cry and not jump on the couch or bed )and she was having allergies worse. She began having trouble walking and was constantly crying in joint pain.we took her to the vet but she was didn’t have any broken bones or reason for this pain. I thought I would switch back to her old food and now she’s back to her old self which is scary because it means something is wrong with THIS food that it caused inflammation and weight gain. I would not recommend this at all! Thankfully my dog is back on her HA and she already looks less swollen and is back to jumping on the couch after stopping this food 3 days ago !

This could make my dogs live forever
I feed both my dogs nothing else and they are happy and healthy and my 12-year-old dog has made a huge recovery from whatever you wanna call it. Old age. Over the past year and a half of eating this food. I get the feeling that this is more expensive than other choices but it must be good. As for the flavor and the smell well I can’t speak for the flavor but the smell is kind of weird. Frankly it smells like mildew to me. But that just may be the way my nose is interpreting it. The dogs love it they are healthy and happy and I’m not gonna change.

Dog decided not to eat it on first bite
We’ve bought this flavour of Wellness before — but I guess this was a bad bag. Dog refuses to eat it. Ugh. Well there goes $70
