Ronseal wax is problematic.
This product is more like a tinted varnish or stain than a wax. It goes on like that or a gloss so you have to work quickly and carefully to prevent it gathering on edges or corners where it goes really dark.I have used Ronseal dark wax previously and it was more of a soft wax that you could brush or rub on which seemed to nourish the wood. In my opinion it’s a shame that it’s now a liquid that dries like a varnish and needs an actual wax over it to seal it and nourish the wood. It was actually better on items that had been previously waxed, just lightly sanded and cleaned with sugar soap solution prior to applying. I used a beeswax or clear finishing wax on the top of it.My woodwork and furniture look amazing but I think some experience is needed to get the best out of this product. My opinion is that Ronseal should go back to their older version of this product.

The white ash version is wonderful stuff for de-oranging that horrid old pine!
This is wonder milky fluid! It goes on nicely, and you can manipulate it a bit for that chalky / limey look, and it dries a nice matte chalky colour. Just perfect for distressing and getting rid of the old orangy looking pine! I'll be buying more to do the rest of our door frames and beams.

Nice natural colour and easy to apply.
Used for waxing natural pine interior doors. Quite liked the colour they were but they needed protecting. Was worried this might make them go orangey but it didn't. It still gave them a warmer tome though and also bought out the wood grain pattern nicely. Went on well with brush - two coats. Did not remove doors and did not have a problem with wax dripping. Easy job.

If you need this or any other color this is the best and as far as i no the cheapest place to get it, One thing with this product is it say's dark oak be aware the wood they use to show the color is not like what we use, For the dark oak i used 4 coat's to get a good color i liked, Use a test peace of wood 2 foot long and coat it all, then next coat again but 6in less and so no, so you can see 1 to 4 coats on test first.

Excellent product. Totally recommend.
I absolutely love this. It is so easy to use and leaves an amazing finish. No brush strokes and a perfect warm medium oak colour. I have also used on a horrible yellow pine piece of furniture and it gave it more of an antique pine look.
