There is specific space for a tea candle only.

Q: Is there room to use fairy lights in this light? I know I would purchase the light strings separately, they come w approx a 2 inch battery box.

Yes there is room for fairy/string lights. We would recommend 20-30 LEDs. 50 would be too many and might not fit.
