Review: Best "Friday the 13th" set for your $$$ - I stumbled across this set by accident looking through the recent desertcart sale for any dvd/ blu ray deals, particularly horror, with Halloween coming up. The only Friday the 13th films I already had were the 4 not included in this set(Jason Goes to Hell, Jason X, Freddy vs Jason, and Friday the 13th '09)and I figured $13 for all 8 films to finish of my collection is the best deal Im going to find. I saw a few complaints about duplicate discs and broken cases but I'm happy to say my set came in perfect condition with no duplicate discs or cracks in the case. The case the discs came in is larger than a normal dvd case with 4 double sided disc holders inside with no holders on the case itself. The thing that totally sold me on this set is that each film not only comes remastered on its own disc so they look and sound great, but each disc is the deluxe edition of that film. Each film comes with tons of extras like commentary on 6 out of 8 films, a bunch of featurettes, deleted scenes, etc., as well as subtitles for those interested. Yes, #3 has no 3D glasses and just a theatrical trailer, but it does include 2D and 3D versions of the film which makes up for it's lack of features. All in all, this is a fantastic set. I've paid a lot more for other collections that had way less, so even at $15-$20+ this set is still a great deal and good to have around for Halloween or a rainy day. Or any Friday the 13ths of course! Review: Perfect, basic box set at a bargain price! - This *isn't* the Blueray, 4k upscaled version. This is the most basic DVD box set of the original movies. It has the regular *and* 3d versions of part three. Seriously, order 3d glasses (the red & blue kind) when you order the box set...totally worth it. Definitely dated technology and a "budget" offering but absolutely worth it!
