With one or both of these extensions, you reduce one's minimum focal distance, and can get some good "magnification" with pretty similar results to a macro lens. Not bad. These tubes are made of plastic, and are pretty lightweight, and I'm not sure how durable they will prove to be if one is making a lot of lens changes or throwing a heavyweight lens on the front. I would recommend the polished ring version as it will be kinder to your lens mount. While they are metal, they are slightly wobbly, and sometimes get locked up. But I still believe they are great for the price, considering the gap to the professional grade tubes is about 4-5x as much money. Using both tubes will make your AF hunt a bit from time to time.
