Pretty little weight and comfort... they are lighter then my regular pair of Birkenstocks

Couldn't tell you specifically, but these are lightweights in a good way. Excellent strap system too.

Q: Your size chart recommends 7-7.5, equivalent to 38. What size should I order?

I wear an 8-8.5 and the 39 in fits me perfectly. If you normally wear a 7-7.5, then I would think the 38 would fit.

Q: Does the front strap that is perpendicular to the two smaller straps keep shifting when you walk?

No. I find these sandals to be very stable and comfortable. In fact, I'm wearing them now and the perpendicular strap is dead center on my foot. No shifting whatsoever.
