Product is Great Software is not
The product works well and engraves and makes everything want it to. The software is horrible. You need to find the drivers online. Luckily someone’s YouTube video linked me to a download that worked. The one that comes with the product does not work. Their website does not give you a download either. Quite odd. Product does work well though

SOFTWARE NO GOOD
The software for the Mr-Carve was not on the included USB drive. I contacted Mr-Carve three times requesting the software (link on their website to download) - there was no response to my request!Regarding the software, the M1 requires the use of SeaCad, as it uses the BSL controller board. This software is abysmal, and support from Mr. Carve is virtually non-existent. The company does not offer direct support for the device, so users may have to rely on an unofficial group on Facebook for assistance. The BSL laser controller board does not allow you to use Lightburn or other similar galvo software. Although Lightburn has stated that they are working with BSL to create a library for compatibility with the software, progress has been slow, and no substantial progress has been made to date.In closing, if you're in search of an entry-level device and are aware of the limitations mentioned, the M1 may be a viable option. However, it is important to note that there are superior products available in the market that far surpass the performance of the Mr. Carve. By saving a little more and investing in a genuine desktop fiber laser that supports LightBurn, you will receive greater value for your money.

Works very well - so far great alternative to $3500+ machine
Some are disappointed in the power and work area of this model. Both are in the description of the product and I believe the machine does what is stated in the description. I consider this best for someone with some good laser knowledge. If you are new to lasers in general, please review safety protocols. Lasers can cause serious injuries. Do not take a chance on a mistake that may damage your eyes or burn your skin. Lasers should never be left unattended while powered on and these are not toys, not even for teenagers without serious parental involvement. The included software is SeaCAD. The laser is not yet Lightburn supported (very good laser s/w). I am not sure when or if it will be. I hope so. The included software on a scale of 1-10 "Easy to Difficult", is a 7.8. The very basics of getting a simple engraving done are okay, but that is where "basics" ends. With all this said, it is really versatile in what it can do in the limited space in which it does it . The unit is packaged very well in a sturdy "styrofoam" like briefcase. Setup time is short. It is highly recommended by those on a social media page to purchase a USB power blocker. The control board will draw power from the USB connection to your computer and will not be enough to properly power it. Bad things may happen. Fortunately there are USB power blockers here on Amazon for less than $7. It plugs into your computer and you plug the Mr.Carve USB cable into it. I took it seriously and purchased one to use and one as a back up.I have only used the laser for part of a day and I am highly impressed. Is it the same as a $3500+ fiber laser, no it isn't and hopefully you are not expecting it to be for almost 1/3 the price.More to come as my experience grows.

Impressive machine
This little machine is impressive. I use it to etch black anodized aluminum panels, as well as 3D prints. Works great on the aluminum panels and gives a really clean sharp image compared to my chinese CO2 laser. Vendor quality etches. On my 3D print material it gives it a nice white to gray etch. I'm really impressed. My CO2 laser probably won't get too much use now.

The software holds this laser engraver back
I've been getting more and more into laser engraving the last few years. I have one of those big xTool machines. The larger ones take up a big amount of space and if you are like me, you have to keep moving it around (dining room table becomes temporary work station). The smaller units like this one and the LaserPecker are great for smaller jobs and also for smaller spaces. This Mr. Crave laser is sturdy and seems well made but the biggest problem for me is that if you want to put it back in the real nice case it comes in when not in use (and you don't have work space)....you have to take it ALL apart. This is a huge pain in the neck. The laserPecker2 comes in a similar case but can be stored fully assembled so its ready to go immediately.I find this laser seems more geared to metals and plastics...sure you can do wood but again this one seems more for metals. I've engraved coated dog tags and some metal business cards so far. They came out ok....and i mean ok because the software is a bit of a pain to use. I have light burn for my other laser and it took me a while to learn it and i still have tons to learn. The laserpecker app can be used with iPad, iPhone, android and even windows mac laptops. this makes things so much easier especially for beginners and when you just want to get things up and working fast. The Mr. Crave laser burns fairly fast depending on your project and it actually has two lasers, one is a positioning laser to find your center and the other does the engraving. you'll of course need to figure out ventilation because it can get smokey fast. While it does the job in a compact size, i find that the software is a bit of a hassle and wish i could use LightBurn being i know it better and have been using it for a couple of years now. In my opinion for people wanting a smaller footprint laser i'd go with the other option i mentioned above. The app is so easy to learn and positioning the burn object sure is simpler too.
