These plastic floss bobbins are so much sturdier than the old paper ones. Easy to use as well. Perfectly hold a skein of embroidery thread.

These work great for holding my embroidery floss, and there are so many! I keep them in one of those plastic cases with dividers and they fit perfectly in there. I have no complaints.

I really like these bobbins. They are better than the DMC brand bobbins I have bought in the past from the craft store. They are slightly thicker, less flexible, and easier to apply stickers or a fine point sharpie pen. DMC brand have a smooth shiny “front” side with raised printing on the tab making it difficult to write clearly or apply a sticker securely. And the “back” have large indented circles on the tabs that also impede stickers or legible writing. These have a smooth but textured surface on both sides that helps grip the floss for winding and make a good surface for applying stickers or writing with a pen. The tabs are slightly larger which helps if you have trouble writing very small but legibly. There are small indented circles on either side of the hole on the back side, but there’s still enough room to write on that side of the tab if you want. However, the quality is inconsistent. I have bought these bobbins 3 times in 2020, 2023, and 2025, using the “Buy Again” link to make sure I got the same bobbins from the same seller. The ones I ordered in 2020 were as described above. They are slightly thicker than the ones I just ordered a couple of weeks ago which are similar to the DMC brand ones described above. They don’t have the raised DMC logo or the “No.______” on the tabs but they are thinner, flexible, and one side is smooth and shiny. The other side is textured but also has small circular indents on both sides of the hole. I tried writing with my fine point sharpie on the shiny side, but it was already rubbing off while I was winding floss on the bobbin. So, I relabeled all of them on the textured side. I’ve since bought nice color-coded stickers but I can’t avoid having the small indents on the textured side under the stickers. I included pictures with the most recently ordered bobbins and the thicker, nicer bobbins from my previous order. It’s hard to see the difference in thickness but you can definitely feel the difference. Notice how the “822” is already rubbing off the shiny side of the new one and all I did was wind the floss on it.

Great, functional bobbins at a much better price than anywhere else I’ve found.
