Simple but effective
I use it to keep the lather in my shave mug warm. I usually lather a few times and the lather gets cold fast in the winter. This mug warmer keeps it warm for me. So nice to have warm lather. Simple but effective. Great price.

NOT its Intended Use
I am going to be honest: I purchased this item to be used NOT for its intended use. I purchased this because I like scented candles, and I also own cats. Lit flames and cats do not mix. Shortly after acquiring this item, I got the flu. At which point I started using it for a purpose closer to, but still not, its intended use. I have been using this item to heat cool-to-room-temperature water to hot so that I can dissolve medicine and cough syrup in it. It can take a while, up to 45 minutes I would say, but it does work. Pros: - Heats water from cool to hot enough to dissolve powder medicine/drink powder in - Stays hot for some time - Plastic edge stays cool enough to touch - Simple on/off wheel clicker - Doesn't slide, but easy enough to move - Heats candles evenly without popping/getting wax everywhere - The hot plate is large enough for even a bowl (4 inches in diameter) Cons: - Takes 45 minutes to do something for which it was not intended? - I'm not a big fan of the white plastic ...What can I say? It's lasted a couple of weeks doing a job it was not intended to do. It was fairly inexpensive. It's easy to use. It has done what I wanted and more. I can really only manufacture complaints about it. It has 4 little feet, so it's not flat on any surface, and while the center of the bottom gets pretty hot, it's not hot enough to burn immediately. The top gives off a fair amount of heat, so I would not risk touching that. All in all, "Most Excellent!"

I like it
Until a week ago, I never knew there was even such a thing as a mug warmer. I stumbled across this when I was looking for a wax warmer. First, the instructions say it's best to use with a stainless steel mug ... who uses a metal mug to drink HOT coffee or tea out of? And it also says to use a mug with a flat bottom, meaning there is no "foot" or extra bottom to the mug. Well I use a ceramic mug with a foot thing on the bottom so I was skeptical if this would work for me but the warmer did it's job and kept my tea at a warm-hot drinkable temp. I'm impressed and wish I had known this thing existed a long time ago! I would definitely suggest you use it on a flat temp safe surface (don't put it on a cushion or fabric) because the underside does get warm - not hot but you can definitely tell something warm was there when you move it. The plate is pretty large and I think most cup sizes will fit onto it. It's pretty basic looking, it's not going to win any style awards, but it does what it's meant to do and I'm very happy with it. The cord could be a little longer but that's not a deal breaker for me. If you want something to keep your beverage warm and you have a little patience, I think this warmer is perfect. I have also noticed that if I keep my cup covered with a folded napkin or paper towel on top (to prevent a film from forming, I guess from my creamer?), it makes your beverage twice as hot. I’ve used this warmer daily for awhile now and it’s great! I plugged mine into one of those remote plugs so that I can just use the remote to turn it off instead of having to reach for the cord to turn it off or on every time. It’s a little lazy but then again maybe I’m a genius too :)

Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.
Overall, I am pleased with my purchase. I’ve had the warmer for about 6 months. I bought it to keep my coffee hot at home in the morning. For the price point, it works fine. It does not keep my coffee as hot as I like it (I like it very hot), but it still allows me to sip my coffee slowly and still have warm coffee. It works better on smaller cups. I like the simple on/off toggle switch and the light to remind me it’s on. The size is good. It’s plenty big enough for all my mugs, but still compact and space saving. TIP 1: I turn the warmer on BEFORE I brew my coffee so the warmer can preheat. I also place my mug (with a tiny bit of water in it) on the warmer to begin heating it up while my coffee is brewing. This helps my coffee stay hot longer. TIP 2: I recommend a mug with a lid. My favorite mug doesn’t have a lid so I place a saucer on top when I have to leave my coffee sitting. A cover will keep the coffee hotter and fresher. Two things I would change: 1) I would make the warmer get a bit hotter. 2) I would make the cord longer and put the toggle switch a little closer to the warmer base.

Great shave mug warmer!
During the winter months I enjoy warm lather while shaving. After researching the different possibilities to achieve this, I narrowed it down to either a scuttle or a coffee mug warmer. Went with the mug warmer as I already had a porcelain apothecary type mug. The Home-X warmer keeps the lather comfortably warm for my entire "two pass plus touch up" shave. WARNING!:, the bottom of the mug does get very hot (I learned this first hand!), and should be lifted by the handle only! If you use an apothecary type mug,the tendency is to hold the "knob" between your thumb and forefinger and support the mug in the palm of your hand. You obviously can't do that using this warmer!, so you may want to use a mug with a conventional loop type handle instead. I'm able to use my mug (see pictures) without any problem. I fill the mug with hot tap water and place it on the warmer and soak my brush and razor in it while I shower. In colder weather, you might want to give the warmer a five or ten minute head start. After showering, I empty the mug, build a lather in it and place it back on the warmer and I'm ready to shave with nice warm lather. I dip the tip of my brush in hot water and whip the lather before each pass to keep it nice and hydrated. I'm totally happy with this kit which works for me, although I'm sure it's not for everyone (ymmv). As there are many variables, such as shave creme, type of brush, etc., no one system works for everyone. Hope this helps those of you who may have been curious or considering using this for the same purpose.

Malheureusement il ne tenait pas mon café au chaud, donc je l'ai retourné et ai été remboursé. J'inscrit 3 étoiles car je n'ai pas eu de problèmes avec le vendeur pour le retour et le remboursement.
