Thunder Torque Inserts For Increased HP & Torque (118 Single)

Easy to install and have my trike a new and old school harley sound.

One of the torque inserts was not threaded all the way to the end. The bolt's end was conical and the thread did start to about 1/8 to 3/16" from the end. This made installation ridiculously difficult. Since the thread was too short, getting the washer and nut on together was almost impossible. It more than doubled the time for installation and I'm not even sure the nut will stay on due to the improper thread on the bolt. The torque insert may simply loosen and end up blowing out the end of the pipe. For the price, it should have been as stated in the description. I should have sent them back to DK Custom, but I had my $700 V&H pipes off the bike and didn't want the pipes laying around the garage while I waited for replacements. After trying for hours, I finally got the inserts on using a special thin wrench. NOT happy at all!**UPDATE**I took them off after few months of riding. These inserts were HORRIBLE, and it felt as if my Dyna had actually lost torque and mid-range power. The inserts made my short-shots sound like I was running plain ole open pipes and they created a raspy, tinny kind of weird sound. Also, the V&H tuner threw a code saying each cylinder was running way too rich. I checked the tuner because I was getting such poor gas mileage after install. I re-installed the OEM baffles and now my Dyna performs much, much better, and no more error codes. I learned my lesson - exhaust manufacturers know what they are doing - I should have left well enough alone and saved my time and money.

Hands Down the best performance mod per dollar I've done to my bike. Made a deeper rumble and seat of the pants can definitely feel more torque throughout the entire range on my 15 Harley Davidson Street Glide

I bought these because I lost some low end torque when I replaced my slip on mufflers with some free flowing ones on my Softail. On the M8 Softails, the cats are in the mufflers so changing them out will delete the cats (depending on which mufflers you choose). I wanted to get some of the exhaust velocity back in order to get some of that torque back. Unfortunately, the screw shafts on these thunder torque inserts are about double the circumference of my exhaust tip screws and baffle retaining screws. I was not interested in drilling holes in my brand new $500 mufflers, so I never installed them. The price is pretty steep for what they are, but if they work as advertised, I suppose it’s worth it.

Super easy install and completely adjustable. Makes my exghaust sound deeper and adds some freeway torq.
