This portfolio does a great job of enabling me to carry my computer with me in a high quality portfolio wrapper.I did change some settings on my computer to better utilize in “portrait” or vertical orientation versus the more normal “landscape” or horizontal orientation. For instance when I use my computer this way I move the task bar to the top so I have access to both the task bar and the screen keyboard simultaneously.It helps to think of the computer a little like the old fashion “clip board” in terms of the vertical functionality.If you can get comfortable with the vertical functionality you’ll love the portfolio - I do!

Good leather on the outside, inside you will find plenty of pockets and pen holders as well as a writing pad holder. It sturdy and my 12.3in surface fits good. I am happy with it, just wish the writing pad holder was on the left side facing the surface while i do work or study so i can take the notes without taking it out, this way i have to take the writing pad out and place it on the left side while i use the surface, no biggie but just that one small thing.

I had researched quite a few folios and selected this one in the hopes of having both a notepad and a tablet.Build/Quality - 5/5 very good; I was impressed by the stitching-detail, the outside leather material, and the thoughtful design. There are as many pockets as you can possibly fit into such a folio and I found myself excited to utilize the space.Design/Usability - 3-4/5 I'm having a lot of difficulty with this category; As someone who is always on the go, it's important to me that this folio is as slim as possible - after all, that's why we all purchased tablets instead of the laptops of the 2000's. With both a notebook and a tablet, it is VERY full. At times, I'm nervous to think that I won't be able to zip up the folio. The zippers feel sturdy for the time being, but I'm concerned this might put stress and create problems down the road. I don't have any problems with the elastic straps. I find myself not using it much, but for those who don't think they'd ever take their tablet from the folio, it works fine enough. Sure, you can't use the kickstand, but you can use it as a writing tablet. (Which brings me to my next gripe...) If you are using a paper pad and you have pens/moderate usage in the front compartments, it will be very difficult/bulky to use. I found myself constantly taking my Surface out of the folio because I had trouble balancing my set up on my lap when taking notes.I'd really like to use and love this product. It's well-built with quality materials and this company has put considerable thought into it's design. However, a handful of people in my office have other folios that are much slimmer and more space efficient. For people on the go who want something sleek (and who are moderately careful about not throwing your Surface around), consider a simple pad-folio and just slide your tablet into the front-accordion pocket; it works just as good for storage.

This is an excellent looking leather portfolio. This portfolio was purchased for my Surface Pro. My main gripe is with the elastic straps. They do not hold the surface well at all and if you were to use this for an MS Surface it will slip out of the portfolio. Seeing that my surface cost over $1,900. I could not afford for this to happen.
