Great for understanding the basics of workflow
Great for understanding the basics of workflow in the shop. Also, the section on benches was very helpful. I read it cover to cover. Much more informed now. Still a newb and have a long way to go...

How to set up a workshop.
Well written by a great educator. Very entertaining and the photography is excellent. This is a primer for anyone starting out in woodworking or someone moving up to develop a more serious set of skills. A hands on approach.

Well thought out projects
Informative and insightful. Now I have more on my to do list. Thanks Christopher. The kind of projects I had intended but had yet to pencil out for myself.

This woodworker's opinion about "The Practical Workshop"
"The Practical Workshop" subtitle "A Woodworker's Guide To Workbenches, Layout, & Tools" was what attracted my attention. I found this book to be disappointing, if you own or have read Christopher Schwartz's "Workbenches: From Design And Theory" or you're a reader of Popular Woodworking (PW). I've been a subscriber of PW since the late 1990's, and seen much of the material in this book with minimal additional new details that supports the subtitle. I read this book as a annotated compilation reprint. However, if you do not fall into my above caveat and you are reluctant to search the PW website for your specific interests, then this book provides a fair bit of information.

A good place to start
As a beginning woodworker, this book used with a few others, was a tremendous help.

gut angelegtes Geld
Ich habe "The Practical Workshop: A Woodworker's Guide to Workbenches, Layout & Tools" als eBook in englisch gekauft.
