Very good.
I use it under a tray inside a small indoor greenhouse (those shelves with a plastic cover). The first thing you notice is that it barely heats up. But inside the greenhouse it raises the temperature about 5 degrees. Seeds are germinating; so I am assuming the mat is doing its job.As strange (and illegal??) as it might seem; nowhere in the box or mat states the power consumption (nor current). Someone in the QA section has placed a tester and determined that it consumes 17 Watts. To determine how much your electric bill will go up; here is a guide: 17 Watts x 720 hours (amount of hours in a month) = 12,240 watts hour or the way you utilities company charges you 12.2 Kwh. Now multiply 12.2 Kwh by your cost per Kwh (look at your bill). In my case I pay 10c per Kwh. So my mat is costing me 12.2 Kwh x 10 cents per Kwh = $1.22 per month to operate.

great for keeping my kombucha brews warm
This has worked nicely for me and my mini basement kombucha operation this summer. I wanted to be able to keep an even temp within optimal range, and it has been doing great. It has maintained an 80-82 degree fahrenheit temp in the basement, which stays around 70. So, about 10 degrees above room temp. I haven't purchased a thermostat to go with it- no need at least for my purposes!

98 - 105 temp range w/ even distribution. Consistent quality across 6 mats.
Purchased 6 of these. Good heat distribution as measured with a temp gun at approx 98 to 105 range. The ones I've purchased from other manufacturers get a little hotter at a range of 105 - 112. Something to keep in mind if every degree counts. For me, it just means that instead of putting a thin cover over the mat, I lay things directly on top of it. I've washed these down with no problem. I would never recommend, however, fully submerging these.

require different temperatures and what might be good for one plant
I have been using two of these in a 2x4 grow tent. Even though there is a version that is 2x4, its very important, especially if your growing different types of plants, that you get two smaller 2x2 mats instead of one 2x4. This is because different plants, strains, require different temperatures and what might be good for one plant, could be deadly to another. I highly recommend not to use these without a thermostat switch for each one. They get hot enough to cook the seedlings. I highly recommend this version thermostat switch as it has less cords to have to mess with. Inkbird C206 10A Heat Mat Temperature Controller with Outlet, 6.56FT NTC Sensor, F and C Degree, 50-108°F When I am using both mats, I use one extra jiffy pellet with a probe stuck in. The reason for this is because if you put the probe elsewhere, the jiffy pellets will most likely get too hot and cook your seeds before everything else gets warm enough. One mat for seedlings, one mat for adults. The adult mat also helps regulate temperature for the tent as well. I also highly recommend the Wi-Fi humidity and temperature probe. This way you can get both readings from just about anywhere in your home, and it even has an alarm. AcuRite 00611A3 Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer and Humidity Sensor

Good for old hens and young chicks
Bought for plants, but wound up using for chickens and chicks. IDK what temperature it reaches (I believe it said "up to 15 degrees warmer" than whatever temp you use it in), but was enough to comfort chickens last winter and chicks this spring. Not hot enough to replace a heat lamp, but provided a warm spot for them to cuddle on. Only problem is, once it gets bent while running, it doesn't want to go flat again. For the chickens, I had wrapped it around the roost, and for chicks, stuck it in a box, and now both look wadded up, but still work. It is easy to clean with a damp sponge - even with 2 months of chicken poo on it.

Works great. I plug it in before going to bed ...
I'm using this to help my kombucha along. Since my house turned cooler with fall. I put it on its side so I can get more bottles around it. Works great. I plug it in before going to bed and unplug it in the am. Holds a good temp.

Poor quality and comes with no warranty or way to contact the company.
Bought this heat mat to start Plumeria seedlings. Worked fine for a couple of months and then the heating element burnt a hole through the mat and stopped working. I went to the Apollo Horticulture website and emailed the address provided for warranty claims and it's a dead email address. Would recommend purchasing from another manufacturer.

Cat was not happy
I had been using another brand mat for our outdoor cat for about two years when it finally quit. I needed another one quick and this one was the right size & price. After about a month I noticed that she wasn't using it & found that it had burned up. I had a light fleece covering so that she wouldn't have to lie on a hard mat which I used on the previous one. I also had a thermostat to regulate the temp. Not only did the mat burn up the fleece but also the thermocouple now rendering the thermostat useless. I know it's suppose to be for plants but the other one worked fine. Regardless, there should have been some sort of safety switch that would trip to prevent over heating. Luckily? it burned through the wiring before it set the shop on fire.
