WellnessCORE Natural Dry Grain Free Puppy Food, Chicken & Turkey, 4-Pound Bag

This food consistently made my dog have upset stomach. I was determined for him to eat it but, when I switched, he got better.

This is a review of Wellness CORE Puppy food based on a bit more than two weeks of use. My Havanese puppy came to me from the breeder on Life's Abundance, a premium food which also met my standards (not made in China, etc). I wasn't initially inclined to change it. However, his digestion was somewhat inconsistent, and he was gassy. Starting at 14 weeks or so of age I decided to try him on Wellness Core puppy based on the positive reviews and the fact that I had tried some Wellness treats with him, which he likes and seemed to digest well.So far, his digestion is much better and has improved as I have moved him off of Life's Abundance (I was gradually mixing in the Wellness Core at first). The kibbles are a bit bigger (I would say roughly 5 mm/ 1/4" in diameter each). than the previous food but still very much accessible to a puppy of his size (currently about 6 lbs). The 4 pound bag is a reasonable price and a good size; I expect it to last about a month for him, if not a bit more (he eats about 3/4 - 1 cup a day). Finally, his coat has stayed as healthy and shiny as it was on his previous food!

WOW!!! This food has been awesome for my 9 month old cocker spaniel. She was struggling with allergies (ears, eyes, and skin) for months while on Merrick then Royal Canin, the brand recommended by our vet. She's been on allergy medicine, allergy shots, ear drops, eye drops, antibiotics.... it's expensive! I did some research and found Wellness Core and I AM SO GLAD I DID!! (Sorry for the shouting, but my excitement can't be held back.) About 2.5-3 weeks ago, her most recent skin irritation was a giant, swollen, oozy bump on her vulva... but, since switching fully to Wellness two weeks ago, her skin has COMPLETELY cleared. Her eyes and ears are noticeably less itchy. Honorable mention benefit: she is actually eating all of her food at each meal -- she's always been a picky eater, but she loves her food now! Finally, her attitude has been better -- probably because she feels better all around!! I am so grateful we made the switch to Wellness. If your dog is struggling with allergies, tiredness, grumpiness... or you just want your dog to be healthier, seriously consider giving Wellness Core a go!!

Charlie, my 9-month old corgi, started being a picky eater about a month ago. I tried everything to get him to eat and it was always a struggle. I got this since I knew Wellness was quality - when I first researched the best food for my puppy - and when I was googling for picky eaters, this one showed up on a few lists.The first time I gave it to him, he gobbled it up. He hasn't been as crazy (as in he won't gobble it up immediately) but once he gets started, he'll eat all of it. So...so far, it's doing its job and my Charlie is loving it. Nice small pieces (smaller than the Royal Canin that he had before) and it has a pretty good strong smell, that usually helps Charlie.

We originally had our puppy on a premium Purina brand (feels strange saying this...) that had been recommended by our breeder. The Purina lasted only three days because our pup had nothing but the runs the whole time. There seemed to be nothing obviously wrong with the bag.Our next choice was this Core food and our golden pup really enjoys it. She’s been on this for almost a month now. We just had her in for her second vet checkup in our care and not only is she very muscular and robust but also her weight is spot on for her age. There was another golden in the waiting area about one week younger which was dwarfed by our girl. Again our pup is not fat or chunky just sturdy, she looks almost majestic!Fur texture has also improved though it wasn’t bad to start with, seems less scratchy more fluffy. Also, no monstrous gas or overly smelly poop.Will keep her on this food, it has been well worth it.
