A book that must be shared with those I care about. - So many bookmarks! I wish I found this book sooner. Will definitely be reading it over (and over) in the coming months and years to help me on this journey of healing and growth. There are so many moments throughout this book that I could pinpoint where I could relate it back to my life. Whether with myself, friends, or ex partners. As a 26 year old male dealing with being broken up with by the person I thought I would experience the rest of my life with, this book was much needed. I don't care what others think, everyone should read this book. Almost every page gave me an opportunity to reflect on my life and figure out what I wanted from my relationships moving forward. It is never too late to learn and grow. This book elevated all aspects of my life. Review: Packs a punch - I'm currently on heart sabbatical to work on my attachment style & realign with my life values, and this book is exactly what I needed to feel validated and encouraged. Kirstie wrote a succinct, but impactful self-help guide through the stages of dating. I devoured it in two days, and definitely recommend it, especially if you have anxious attachment style or tend to find yourself with emotionally unavailable partners. Fair warning: the book asks you to set aside any sort of victim mentality & critically think about your own behaviors and internal beliefs - so it is really only for those who want to see themselves clearly, grow in self-love, and are ready to create a life they are proud of.

Has good advice
It was well written. Just not my cup of tea and it was boring at times. She did drop a good amount of gems

Super helpful
I love this book! Super fun and easy to read. I feel like her perspective is everything I need to hear. Especially being deep in the dating seen, I’ve been able to implement a lot of the principles and practice them. Dating life has been way more intentional and my self love is skyrocketing I mate as of stressed and worried. I definitely identify as an anxiously attached person so this book has helped me ground back into myself and know that I’m not alone or crazy. Definitely buy this book! 💜

From “why does this keep happening to me?” to “it’s me, hi! I’m (also) the problem, it’s me.”
Okay. So coming out of a 10 year marriage that ended in essentially a train crash mixed with a 10 car pile up and a dumpster fire, I had absolutely no idea how to dip my toe into dating. I’ve done therapy, I’ve read a lot of books, I’ve listen to a lot of podcasts. But it felt like so few resources actually understand what it’s like to be a 30-ish millennial dating in the current reality. This book is where you start. She gets it. Seriously, reading this book feels like I’m actually talking to a friend instead of that old lady on the TV show from the 90s that gave sex advice at 11 PM. It’s like having a friend that is also a therapist and a relationship expert, but still a friend…? The vibes are immaculate. So seriously, buy it, read it, and KEEP IT. It takes so long for our brains to change behavior patterns- read it periodically to check yourself from slipping back into “whoa is me”. Just do it. And while you’re at it, get one for your therapist, and your single friends, and your friends that are dating. This book should be a prerequisite to downloading Bumble…

Answered SO many questions.
This is the most comprehensive book about dating I’ve ever read. It has a lot of good advice and the author really drives her point home using personal examples about what she learned. I couldn’t recommend it enough. Want dating to make more sense? You need this in your life, period.

I finally hit the purchase button on this book when I was going through a break-up. I’m about halfway through and there’s just tons of nuggets of wisdom that really resonated with me. I know one book isn’t gonna change my life but this feels like that cool aunt or older sister telling you about all the shiz they’ve been through and you DO NOT TOLERATE THAT! Not anymore! Here’s to healthier mindsets and relationships!
