Run Small Critters!
This sounds like a yucky, gimmicky product, but I have found it to work very well. I had a family of raccoon (or is it raccons?) living under the deck near where my grand kids play. The mother was getting VERY protective. I sprinkled this dry product (it is dried fox urine mixed with sand) around the area and the mother raccoon and babies were outa' there within 24 hours. It has also eliminated my groundhog problem as well (critters love camping out under the deck). I believe it works as well as Coyote urine. I use both interchangeably. I would recommend this product to help rid your area of critters smaller than foxes or coyotes. I hear it works for deer too but I kind of enjoy their presence in the yard so I just use it around the perimeter of the deck.

Snake deterrent
This product is very easy to use, and apparently works well because I have not observed any snakes since it was distributed. I would recommend.

Ship Separately!!!
I'm a repeat buyer of this stuff. Originally bought the 3 pound size and it did what it was supposed to which is get rid of Mr. or Ms. Groundhog who had set up home umder the slab of my garage. Filled in the hole and all was well for about 7 months from the initial application. In late June, saw the entrance hole had been dug out. I wasn't surprised as I had read that GH can smell the former den of another GH for several years after it has been vacated, and will dig it out to reoccupy it. I had a little left of the original purchase and sprinkled it into the new hole and immediately ordered this larger size. I haven't seen any further activity at the hole since the reapplication. Fortuneately, some actual real foxes have moved into the area and I'm hoping they will eat any groundhogs that come around. Now, for the warnings. This stuff really stinks. Wear latex or rubber gloves that you can throw away when opening, applying, or handling it in any way. If it gets on your hands, expect the smell to stay for days. Be sure you are upwind and reach out with the container so none gets on your shoes.Shipping advice...have this stuff shipped separately from any other items. I ordered a National Audubon Society Field Guide book at the same time; Amazon put them in the same box. The Shake Away was in a plastic bag, but it had holes, and for some completely unfathomable reason, the lid was not screwed onto the container. The book was not wrapped in anything. The book was covered in fox urine granules and now stinks to high heaven. I immediately called Amazon customer service and they shipped out a new book with expedited delivery; they even requested I not ship the original book back them.Oh, and when you open the box, do it outside; you really do not want any of this stuff inside your house.I would have given this 5 stars as it worked as it was supposed to on my groundhog problem, but a quality control or inspection problem by the manufacturer in not screwing the lid on could have caused a very nasty clean up problem if the shipping box had been opened in the house.

Arrived open, spilling everywhere. GROSS
This arrived with the cap totally off and spilling everywhere. A huge, gross, stinky mess. Very unhappy.I usually don't review something until I use it, but this was bad. When I opened the shipping box this stuff got all over my hands and spilled on my counters, and floor. Gross, gross and gross. To be clear, this is fox urine granules and it reeks. Fine for outdoors, but you don't want it on your hands or in your house. Trust me. It was like sticking my hand into a dirty litter box and dumping it in my kitchen. The other 2 items in this box were covered in this stuff. I had to wash them both. Couldn't get it out of my house fast enough.I have no idea if this stuff works. This is my first time buying Shake Away. I won't but it again. We have feral cats and they're starting to use my garden. I wanted to act quickly to avoid any problems. It's too messy to return. I will probably try what's left. I only ended up with half the product. I put the top on the container, seems to work, though the snap pour spout seems loose, so it's not airtight. I don't know how much that effects the potency or not. I don't know why it came apart. Maybe it was a return. Very disappointed.

So far so good! UPDATE: Does not last long enough for the price!
Just bought our first home, planted some flowers for spring. Saw pudgy groundhog in our backyard, thought it was kinda cute...until it DEVOURED all my new flowers. Was so looking forward to seeing the first blooms on my new baby rose bushes--buds gone. All my petunias--looks like someone took a weed wacker to them. This means WAR, porker. This product doesn't have the best reviews, but it was the best I could find from searching groundhog repellents online. I also bought some 97 cent pinwheels from Walmart and put them around the plants I was trying to protect (I read online that the movement/shininess of the pinwheels might be helpful to deter the skittish groundhog). I laid this stuff down way heavier than recommended, but I haven't seen the groundhog even ONCE since I put this stuff (along with the pinwheels) down one week ago. No further damage to any of my plants, which has allowed many of them to start recovering nicely.Come to find out this groundhog lives underneath our neighbor's shed--and our neighbor is okay with this?! So the fact that it's in such close proximity and still not bothering our yard is pretty impressive. Hopefully the effect won't wear off over time (and of course I will keep applying this stuff periodically), but rest assured I'll come back and adjust my star rating if he makes a reappearance. So far, I'm very impressed!!!!UPDATE: It's been almost 2 weeks since I wrote the review (so almost 3 weeks since I first applied the Shake Away)--I've actually seen the groundhog in our yard a couple times, but only in the yard itself and not for long--so far it has been leaving my garden beds and planters (where I have the fox urine and pinwheels) alone. I actually have FLOWERS now and they're so pretty!! Now if I could just get rid of the slugs...Edited to add: when I originally ordered this, I ordered a few--they were only $6 a pop. Now they're $20 a pop. Not happy about this as I'm all out of it now and I'd like to order more but don't want to pay more than triple the price I originally paid. $6 was reasonable--$20 not so much.2nd UPDATE: Removed 2 stars. I have had to resort to fencing off any plants/ areas of the garden that the groundhogs (yes plural, I believe there are actually 3 of them that frequent our property!) want to eat. The Shake Away does work, but does NOT last long enough, needs to be applied more heavily than the directions indicate, and the price is STILL $30 a pop (has never gone back down to anywhere near $6--apparently I just got really lucky on the price when I first discovered this!). If this product were affordable enough to reapply frequently, then I might have left my review at 5 stars, but given the fleeting efficacy and substantial price, it's just not suitable for anything more than a couple weeks of groundhog deterrence. Oh and the pinwheels are not effective deterrents either--once the fox urine smell wore away, the groundhogs went right past the pinwheels to do their munching!
